The days may seem long but the weeks and months fly by. So many changes have happened in my life. My dear hubby needs more and more care. Keeps me busy. Not as much time for quilting these days but I still get some things done. Working on quilting a string quilt. I love picking out fabric, deciding on a pattern and piecing however the quilting part is not my favourite part. I even enjoy the quiet sitting down and hand stitching the binding down, more. It is taking three times as long to get…Continue
I have a pile of these beautifully worked Dreden Plates that will finish at 16". They were appliqued to muslin feed sacks. Some of the muslin still has faint printing on them. It is quite sturdy (if I can use that as a descriptor) muslin. The blocks are a little musty and smudged from storage and time. Before I trimmed them, some had the old seam holes from where they were stitched into sacks in their previous life. I bought them on ebay at a shamefully low price, so I don't know…Continue
This is what I decided to do with the baby quilt - mostly because of fabric availability and crunch time. I appreciated all who commented and gave suggestions. I made notes for next time. I think it would have looked nice with a dark border as well. I was using up scraps and made do with what I had.
Stats: 8" blocks. 1" inner border, 3" outer border. Machine quilted - domestic machine - in the ditch. Cotton batt. This has been washed and dried. I don't prewash my fabrics…Continue

I decided to make another quick table runner using some more heart fabric that I have had in my stash for several years. I made the heart blocks on my embroidery machine & then finished it on my Pfaff. It is laying on my coffee table. I told my husband that it sure would look nice with a bouquet of flowers on it for Valentine's Day. LOL …Continue
Well these snowy days I have been able to finish putting together blocks of an UFO that have been waiting for over ten years, so top already for LAQ.
And I have another UFO looked out to work on at my next Sew What group on Tues.…Continue
Here is the Hunter's star layout, before it was completely put together. I like the balance.
The blocks finish at 8", so as is, this measures 32 x 40. Question: Is that big enough for a baby quilt? I tend to make mine a little larger. I'd feel better if this were 40 x 48, but I am not going to…Continue
