Happy New Year

Posted by B J Elder/WA on January 17, 2017 at 4:38pm 4 Comments

Hope you were sitting down when you saw I actually posted! LOL  I've been pretty AWOL from here. Life has been so busy for me.

In case no one has posted, Annie Shaw, one of our CT family of bloggers, has died.  I do not know the details, but found out on Facebook.  Please keep her family in prayers.

I actually have made three things already this year ... a fiber art lighthouse picture, a little vest for a baby gift, and something else that currently escapes me. Oh my... where…

Old skills renewed...

Posted by Pam/NY on January 16, 2017 at 6:33am 11 Comments

I haven't crocheted in 25 yrs. but with you tube, it is easy to refresh your skills. I wanted to make, my friend who will be going through chemo and was told she will lose her hair, a couple of cute alpaca hats. I really enjoyed making them and may start another crochet project in the future. My grandmother was the 1955 National Crochet Champion so maybe I have her gene!!!  lol…

It's slow going in the New Year.  By the way, HAPPY NEW YEAR to all, sorry I'm a little late to the party!  HAha, as always.   Getting back to my opening sentence... I have had the same pile of fabrics on my cutting table since November.  That's a big mistake.  Every time I  go in the studio, it's there staring at me.  I set down my coffee, and immediately get feeling guilty, so I cut even more charity quilt tops and Art Abandonment pieces.  What I should be doing is picking a UFO out to…

Hello 2017

Posted by Katherine V. on January 5, 2017 at 5:54pm 8 Comments

Happy New Year.  I have finished my first quilt for the new years. This started with an idea by my niece to use her daughter's crib bedding to make a t-shirt quilt.  I got a little carried away and created this quilt instead.  My first large quilt that I machine quilted on a domestic machine.  I learned many lessons.  It has been washed and only needed to repair a few places where the quilting thread popped.  Off to my next adventure.…

Sabrina the Northern Flying Squirrel

Posted by Rebecca Sundberg on January 4, 2017 at 1:12pm 5 Comments

This photo wouldn't load on my previous blog post so I'm adding it here.  These little squirrels are nocturnal and have the most luxurious fur.  They're very common in the forests in our area, but are not often seen.  …
