This quilt I made in two variations. I think the warmer autumn colors are prettier, but the winter colors are more striking. I have entered "The Autumn Wind" (which did not photograph well) in the show. The second quilt is called "A Walk in the City" because, to me, it resembled an arial view of city buildings and intersecting streets. Which do you prefer?…Continue
Happy Spring to All! We are on spring break here in Oregon, at least the part I live in. Instead of snow, we've been deluged with rain, but there are promises of nice (even sunny) weather at the end of the week. And put some stitches in my white on white hand quilting project. I try to do some every evening while DH is watching TV. The combination of NCAA basketball tournament and newly adopted dog is working against…Continue
My 13 yr old grandson Billy and his dad have been busy designing and making leather sheaths for hunting knives that they hope to sell at a local flea market. So far the dad has been stitching these by hand, but that is taking its toll on him, plus it is way too slow. He asked me for my opinion on what kind of a sewing machine would work to sew through as many as 3 layers of leather. I told him I would ask on this forum to see if anyone has any suggestions although I did tell him he would…Continue
