I was just reading everyones posts and looked up to see the thread spools. Variegated threads. Woo hoo. I've been waiting for these for a while. I would love it if they had them on large cones for quilting machines but I've got my order in for the smaller projects.
Can you settle a disagreement for me please?
I say: fat quarters sold as fat quarters need to be 18"x22" NOT including the selvage edge.
She says: fat quarters that are sold in stores and online are measured outside the selvage edge and that edge is included in the 18"x22" measurement.
I've never (until now), purchased a fat quarter in a retail store nor online that even has a selvage edge.
To celebrate National Quilt Month in March, Connecting Threads will offer a Mystery Quilt 2014 Quilt Along. This is our second Mystery Quilt and promises to be lots of fun for all. We think you will enjoy making this three-part pattern. The catch is that you won’t know what the quilt looks like until Part 3!
What are the dates of the quilt along?
Part 1 - Wednesday, March 19th
Part 2 - Wednesday, March 26th
Part 3 - Wednesday, April…
I love to shop ONLINE with CT of course. but sometimes I NEED the fabric TODAY. I found a quilt shop in Vancouver, WA that I really enjoy. A Quilt Forever on 99 near I 5. it's neat and very clean. new in fact, I think they opened this past fall.
It's been so long since I've posted, that I nearly forgot how to.
I've just ordered the Boutis book from Connecting threads, and started looking into what it really is. What caught my eye was a ring bearer's pillow that I want to make for my daughter who is getting married in July.
Do any of our international friends know if this book is still in publication and how much it would cost? I looked at Amazon here and it's $135 for a used one, and that doesn't guarantee that the…Continue

Heading out to the quilt shop, Quilter's Hangout in Cape Coral. You walk in and they greet you and your dog, if you want to bring them. They have theirs running around! Great smells that hit you...batiks, cottons, etc. I've enjoyed the break from sewing...looking forward to a new project when I get home in three weeks! This weekend is our 40th…Continue
Hi I was wondering if there is anyone that hand pieces. I have been working on a quilt and hand piecing it. I looked for a group on here and did not find one and was thinking about starting one if anyone is interested or could tell me if there is a group already please let me know.
I moved to Florida 11 months ago. I have noticed that all my quilts which looked so right in New England, look so drab here. I have always liked earthy colors, now all I want to see are brights and batiks, the colors of the sea. I guess tastes change over time. Everyone in my old guild used to tease me about being the Thimbleberries queen. I just ordered fabric with flamingos, sea turtles, and dolphins, to make a Florida quilt. All in pretty bright blues, aquas, greens, and pink. Can't wait…Continue
