Tomorrow (Saturday) I begin my trek with my BFF to Paducah for the show. It promises to have a few endless days on the bus followed by THE BIG SHOW and then a few more endless days. I 'm so excited! We will be on a bus with 35 other people who speak our language. I'll have do work on the bus (deadlines wait for nothing) but not in Paducah. And, I don't have to shop for groceries, cook, clean, etc. I hope DH will remember to bring the plants in at night so they don't freeze.
I have been sorting precut left over pieces. My goal was to get rid of one 30 gallon container. The goal is close to being made into four super scrape quilts. Another is in the making, but I am not getting too excited yet. I did stuff a pillow case and sorted the pieces while on trip back to Missouri last week. Just about now after four days of sewing have gone through the bag and trying to make the last quilt. It is so odd in colors and pieces I can see why I have UFO of started scrapes…Continue
Yes, we have been quiet here for a while so guess I'll put in my 2 cents worth in. Here in NW Wisconsin spring is 2-3 weeks earlier than usual. The first "salty" has arrived in Duluth/Superior harbor 2-3 weeks early. Snow has been gone for 3 weeks; there's a bit of frost still in the ground. DH attempted to pull out 2 dying shrubs with the 4 wheeler but frost is holding the roots in ground tightly. He does yard work and I do flower beds and veggie gardens; all are done till wind blows…Continue
This week saw the center of Pine Burr quilt finished.
Not too much else got done this week while I worked to put the blocks together. However, after all the work to paper-piece the blocks and larger cornerstones, it felt good to get it put together. This quilt is going to be way too big for my…
We have been quiet for a long time...Spring is in the air and it's time to shake off the longgggg winter blues. Like Rebecca just posted, we all will be doing yard work and getting our gardens in. We however, know better than to plant anything before Memorial Day! Upstate NY has a way of surprising us with a freeze in May!!!
Started a new project of embroidery! Haven't done that in so long. Found some medallion pre-printed squares at a house sale that will match the last ct. cross…Continue
Doesn’t time fly? It seems I haven’t submitted a blog post for well over a month and frankly I can’t believe it’s been that long. During the time that I wasn’t working on a blog post I made a ten day visit to Victoria, BC to see my DS and DDiL and to finally meet in person that sweet little granddaughter that I’ve been getting to know via Skype. What a sweetheart she is – and as much as I’d love to post a picture, I’m waiting for the adoption to be final before posting any pictures, just…Continue
Can I just confess that I'm somewhat of a fat quarter queen? I know that the love of fabric is not a new concept to anyone on this forum. I pretty much like it all. And since I'm somewhat of a scrap quilter, I always felt I could justify buying a little bit of EVERYTHING rather than a lot of any ONE thing.
Well it sometimes gets me in trouble, because in between times of picking up what basically amounts to overgrown fabric samples, I will start a project and have just the…Continue
