This past weekend was my 45th nursing school reunion...We had a wonderful time. Amazing ladies and have contributed in so many different ways. Proud to say...I went to school with them. I was giving the hostesses their gifts, when someone said quilting, they came from all parts of the room! Half the gals are quilters!!!! We shared old memories and made new ones...for awhile it was like those 45 years never happened unless you look at photos! lol…Continue
Thought I'd pop in with an update from the Nile Valley.
A. This week my brother delivered a 'new to me' vehicle to replace our other vehicles that have a lot of years and enough miles on them. I now have a 2012 Ford Escape that is in very very good condition and should last me a long time! I'm very excited. Favorite feature? Why the heated seats, of course! Winter is coming and no more cold tush! LOLOL…Continue
My thanks go out to all the people who have kindly welcomed me to Quilt with Us! It is nice to be part of this group, and to see what you're all doing by way of quilting.
My big news for this week is that my highly popular online patchwork quilt design class, Darned Quilts, is now open to students at Academy of Quilting! In this class, you will learn more than you ever thought possible about fabric gradations!…Continue

A while back I found them so I decided to make 3 more blocks and set them in to a setting similar to the "7 Sisters" layout in honor of my mom. Her 1st name was Iva so I'm going to call this "Iva and Her Sisters". I am still thinking about what I want to put on the label. She loved flowers and…Continue
The baby for which this quilt top is made is now 6 days overdue. If I hurry, I might be able to finish it before he arrives!
It is made of western fabrics - browns, oranges, and blues, according to momma's preference. It will finish at roughly 42 x 50. The delectable mountains half-blocks are 4.5 x 6 finished. I'll just machine quilt this one as simply as possible. I haven't pieced a back yet. The setting reminds me of woven saddle blankets, and that's the look I was going…Continue
It has been 45 yrs. since 58 girls graduated from nursing school in Albany,NY. We spent three years together growing up! Next week, we will be spending a fun weekend reuniting. 33 out of 58 are going to make it. The two gals that have been planning this have done an exceptional job tracking down everyone!!! We may not see everyone, but we have contact info and our own website now. I planned the 30th reunion, I know how much work it was and enjoyed seeing everyone reconnect. I decided to make…Continue
