I wasn't actually away. I was just missing from the board. Too many deadlines, not enough time or energy. Now I'm coming up for air. I feel like some giant beast, maybe a whale, surfacing before diving again. We'll be babysitting 2 year old for a week. I'm already expecting to be in bed five minutes after he is. I doubt there will be much in the way of news bulletins or creativeness. Just in case, I'll have yarn and pattern to knit penguins this time instead of zebras.

Latest pieced quilt top. Now the decision time is upon me. What to quilt. I am thinking a something in the middle, a border, and just stitch around the stripes. Any suggestions?

I have been pretty busy so this kid might have it in time to take to college. lol O.K. O.K. maybe her high school graduation. And that's if I hurry. We have been getting heavy rains here ALL WEEK. It can stop anytime as far as I'm concerned. My lights are on night and day it's so dark, damp and dismal. And…

Pam's comment on making a memory box for her grandsons reminded me of this one: 6 yr. old Abby to 8 yr. old Ahren, "What's a funeral?" Ahren's very serious answer, "It's when you get married."

All excited and out of breath, 9 year old Ahren told me that her and a friend were going to perform a dance for the K-2nd graders at school. She asked if I would be willing to help make their costumes. Needing a little more information, I asked what kind of dance? Well, it was something to do with "Old England" and all she knew was that they had to dance around a pole!!! Then she drew a sketch of a black and red and white dress. Still confused, I told her to see what her mother was…

This being graduation time...I read this article...
Would you trade places with an 18 yr. old???
T Boone Pickens spoke at his grandson's graduation and asked a bored audience, if they would change places with him, if they could. He'd give them his planes, houses, money. He told them he would do it in a flash. He would love to do it all over again!
I would take that trade in a flash with any 18 yr. old...I would love to take the knowledge…
