Hey Wanda,

I don't know if her blocks are pieced or appliques, but if you just need an image of a grand piano to use as a pattern to make an applique, I can put one together for you with Photoshop easily. I'm making a quilt for a mother whose son died in a car accident last month and I'm just using clip art images to create blocks of some of his favorite things and they are turning out really cute. So if that's what you need, just let me know what size you want the image and I'll find one for you.

LeAnn,

The book has paper pieced blocks but applique would be a great alternative. The quilt I am making has all different types of blocks. The quilt is a sampler type quilt for my 21 year old son hopefully for Christmas. The blocks are all different sizes so anything up to a 10" block would work. I sure appreciate your help.

That designers book-this one in particular-is WAYYYYYYY expensive even on the used book sites! What is up with that? LOL

I know it's expensive, I did the search too. I think it's because it's out of print, but even used it was $45, they had one on e-bay too and the last bid was $25 i think. Anyway, I sincerely appreciate your help.

Hi LeAnn,

I found a clip art that I think would work. It's the 55th one. I need it for a 10" block. This is what the clip art says under it, I'm not sure if that helps but it is an outline drawing with a bench. I sent you an e-mail with it.

I got your email. I know you want it for a 10 inch block, but how big do you want the finished image to be? (How much space do you want around it plus your seam allowance?) I'll get it done and email it to you tomorrow. :-)

The 9" one is perfect. I'm excited to add it to the rest. I did a paper pieced acustic guitar from the paperpanache web site and my son drew an electric bass that I appliqued. I'm also adding musical notes from the papaerpanache site. Thanks so much for you help, I truly appreciate it. I'll post a picture if and when I get this put together, hopefully at least the top by Christmas. Thanks again, you're the bomb as my kids used to say.

hahahaha! My kids very rarely think I'm the bomb or cool or bad or whatever is "in" at the moment, so your compliment is welcomed!

I'm glad I could help, and I can't wait to see it all put together! One of my 20 year old daughter's best friends died from complications following a car accident last month and I told her we should make his mother a quilt. Well apparently she thought that idea was "the bomb" and last night she came by with 70 personalized quilt squares from his friends that she wants put together "by Christmas" for his mom!

I'm happy to do it, but nothing ruins the joy of a project like the pressure of it being a holiday gift! I'll be thinking of ya!
