Quilt With Us

I just have to share with my quilting buddies the special gift I received last night. Christmas was a bittersweet time for my husband Dale and myself this year and over the holidays we put together a jigsaw puzzle. I fell in love with the picture on the box and when we finished I loved it. I glued it together and my friend Denise (On CT's and here at home) said she would get it framed for me. She came over for quilt bud sewing night last night and in she walked with this matted frame of the puzzle. Talk about being blown away!!!! I think it is beautiful!! And to top it all off she Gave it to ME!!! Would not let me pay her for it. What a precious gift and what precious memories of my husband and I working on something together to get our minds off something that was troubling us. (We all go through those times). I might add things are much better. Thank God for friends!! Denise if you are reading this Thank God for you and this precious gift. I am going to put it in my sewing room. Thanks for letting me share this wonderful surprise!! Linda

What a wonderful gift! I love the puzzle too. Janet
Linda,
Aren't quilting friends the BEST!!! They always know how to lift us up. I know I thank God every day for all my quilting friends, wherever they may be.
Glad you have shared a picture of the puzzle with us.
God Bless you.
Lauren
Yes Lauren quilting friends are the best. Tonight Denise the one that had the puzzle matted and framed for me was putting together a "Twisted Sister" block and we had such a good time and it turned out sooooo cute. She put a monkey in the center block and did blues and oranges as the windmill. We found out how easy it is to make one and we were both on cloud nine. I have about 3 projects I want to get done first but when those are done I want to do a "Twisted Sister" quilt. They are great!! I'm glad you enjoyed my puzzle. It is precious to me. God Bless You too, Have a great Lords day tomorrow. Linda
What a beautiful gift. The picture/puzzle is absolutely beautiful and I'll bet it will look great in your sewing room. Enjoy. Do you have a picture of the twisted sister quilt. I don't believe I have ever seen one.
Thank you Elaine. Hopefully we'll get it hung this weekend. I can't wait. Go to "Nancy Kennedy's" my page and pull up her photo's. The twisted sister quilt is in her photos and it is absolutely beautiful! The name she gave it is "Let's Picnic". You must see it. I am so excited about making one. Let me know what you think after you see it. I'll bet you'll want to make one too!!! Thanks for your kind words. God Bless You, Linda
Hi Linda, I took your advice and went to Nancy's page to see her quilt. I loved every one of her quilts. It's great that she gives her quilts names too. I will have to try that sometime. I haven't been sewing for a couple of weeks. Hope to get back into the mood soon. Thanks for your reply.
Linda,
I see what you mean. It is a beautiful puzzle and yes it must be by meaningful to you and your hubby! How great a friend and how great is a gift that is unexpected! That's just wonderful! Enjoy, you must be a very special person and so you received a very special gift from a friend. That is what it's all about and that is another reason why I am so happy chatting to our quilting friends!
You are all very special people!
Thanks for sharing!
Carol
Hi Carol, thank you for your sweet words. Quilting friends are cream of the crop!!! The best of the best!!

I read your profile and you are doing what I have already done. Made a quilt for all my grandchildren. I would still be making if I had as many grandchildren as you do. I have 6 grandchildren with #7 (Samuel) due in late May. I had never quilted before but in 2005 I decided that I would make a doll quilt for my newest grandaughter. We were giving her a doll cradle for Christmas so I thought, If I can make a small quilt for a doll and it turns out ok then I will try my hand at a larger one. Well the rest is history. It turned out ok and I have been quilting ever since but the grandkids all wanted Granny to make them a quilt and I did. I have their pictures with their quilts on my page. They love their quilts as I am sure all of your precious grandkids love theirs.

When Samuel is born we will then have 5 gransons and 2 grandaughters. My husband and I have 3 sons, two of whom have a boy and a girl, however, our youngest son is following in his parents footsteps with 3 sons. Raising boys was an experience but one that I wouldn't trade for anything. They all turned out as outstanding young men but there were times when I wondered and cried out to the Lord. He just kept saying, "Raise up a child in the way he should go and when they are old they will not depart from it". Well that is so true. They all love God with all their hearts and are raising their children to do the same. What more could a mother or grandmother ask for.

I hope you have a wonderful day today and a great Valentines Day. Thank you for your comments and nice sharing with you!! God Bless You, Linda
