I noticed that you are no longer carrying the variegated threads- is there some reason for that- I really liked them for quilting my multicolored backs- They worked great for that purpose.
I purchased CT thread in every color except the neutrals. Then the new colors came out, and I've bought about four of them so far, with plans to get the rest one of these days. I have them on a June Tailor thread spool rack on my wall. It's so pretty! I'll post a picture.
I don't know why I didn't buy the neutrals, because I use them the most for piecing. I'd been using a national brand, and my machine was getting so much lint, I'd have to completely take apart the drop-in bobbin casing and sweep out the lint a couple of times during the sewing of each quilt. I didn't know it was a thread issue. Then, I ran out, and have been using a light CT thread, and the lint problem has gone away!! Excellent.
Fabulous threads and the price is great. One disappointment though - I've had a couple of reels which are flawed in that they have a cut down the length of the reel and it winds off in small lengths for the first half. Has anyone else had this problem? Mary
I had a similar thing but it was my own darn fault. I used a scissor to cut the plastic wrap and cut through a section of the thread at the top of the spool. And of course, the one spool I butchered (of the 8 in the set) was the one purple that matched my quilt backing. I still used it but every so often had to stop and rethread. Grr...
Mary, please call our 800-574-6454 and tell them what happened. We will replace those flawed spools without question and you don't even have to return them to us - we'll just send the replacement. Tell 'em Karen sent you! Defective product is not okay! You deserve perfect stuff.
I had that problem as well on at least one spool. I haven't opened them all yet to know if any others were like that. I think it was only the top portion of the spool that was affected, not the whole spool.
I have been quilting on my apqs lenni sense last Christmas my first longarm quilting machine .So i did not know anything about thread .lenni came with samples of superior . had a lot of tension bugs to work out. I saw the CT and bought. I love the stuff and so does Lenni it seems to be the only thread i dont have tension problems with and the color selection is great. I am tring to learn Mctavishing quilt style and cant use CT because of thread buildup , I have not noticed if there is a smaller weight ,only the size 50. I am using a poly embroidery thread to do the MCtavishing. I did see the invisible thread that Ct has but have not tried it.
WOW I am glad I found this discussion. I was trying to deside weather to try the thread or not.. the price was to good not to , now i will for sure. Think I will even try out the fabric for my next quilt
