Your Quilt is just BEAUTIFUL. So glad to gear you like FPP ing.
Ladies in my Quilt Guild HAYE it!!!
Just finished the Cone Flowers. In Yellows and Browns.by Sieffert and her husband-.
Your quilt is amazing! I love it!!! I'm new to paper piecing, but have been quilting for about 35 years. I've done a few small things with rediculously tiny pieces from Paper Panache, but they did come out well even after I had to take some pieces out because I put the paper on the wrong side. I'm just starting a new quilt for our bedroom that's going to be PP, so I'll let you know how it goes....Thanks for sharing your beautiful quilt!
Couldn't agree more. I put in a volunteer day on the NJ Quilt Project ages agp and it was so much easier to identify pieces that had labels on them. Some had a whole history which was great. That inspired me to give "history" with my quilts and the recipient always gets a kick out of knowing the block names and why I chose each pattern. We're so used to hearing that qiulting is a craft, that signing them seems pretensious (sp?) but it's not. Crusade on!!!
Thanks so much I will order it. Ordered 2 Patterns the other day-It said it was Paper Pieced Quilts-It was, however it was the Paper Oiecing that you cut out each piece and put it on Freezer paper. You can reposition it if it is not right. I just hate it. I am a Foundation Paper Piecer. Tried the English Piecing also, not my cup of Tea (Pun)--
THanks again for this.s
My word Sally!! That is gorgeous! I've only done paper pieced blocks...my brain never even began to wrap itself around a project of this size. (Actually paper piecing was the thing that got me addicted to quilting in the first place...but my true love so far is applique) I'm just in awe of you and Faye.
I picked up a new applique book yesterday called Piece by Piece-Machine Applique by Sharon Schamber and Cristy Fincher and in it is a chapter called "Paperless Paper Piecing". It is the most interesting method I've ever seen (and way too complicated to explain here) but she uses glue and templates and she makes the most stunning quilts. I'm dying to try it out just to see if I like more than regular paper piecing. I'll let you know how it goes, but I'm fairly certain I'll NEVER be brave (or crazy?) enough to attempt something on your scale. I bow to the masters here!!!
Ok....yep....positive now. Spent about 15 seconds on the "Bella Bella" site, broke out in hives and a migraine and must now retire with a cool cloth over my forehead and chocolate of some kind in my hand..."I'm not worthy....."
