Quilt With Us

Is there a quilting hoop that you can us on your lap? If there is, where do I find one. I've given up on trying to own a quilting machine at this late stage of my life . . . although would love to own one.

I have a lap frame made by Grace company. I bought it many years ago from Nancy's Notions. I love it and it goes with me as we travel. Did have to make a bag to carry it in as the wing nuts tend to loosen and fall off while traveling. This way, if they do, they are caught in the bag and I can find them again.
I prefer to use a hoop when I hand quilt. About a year ago I bought a 14" hard plastic one at Jo-Ann fabrics. It holds the fabric very tightly. I quilted a queen-size quilt on that hoop. The Jo-Ann website still has it and if you order on-line you can even get a 17" hoop. Had I known, I probably would have gone for the larger one. Good luck!
There is a hoop made by Hinterberg that works wonderfully. I don't have the website but if you google Hinterberg it will pop up. They are located in West Bend, WI.
Hope this helps,
