I am a long time member of "Quilting With Us" (QWU). I used to give virtual workshops here. Like many others, I have ventured out as QWU became more quiet.

We are getting the warning that QWU is at risk of being disabled. I fear this is a sign that QWU will one day be no more.

It has become like family here and the thought of losing the friendships we have developed has giving me a sad heart. Like many dark clouds, there is a silver lining. When I ventured out, I created a quilters social network, much like QWU. I never mentioned it, for it was a conflict of interest. However, in this dark hour, it is time to let others know there is an alternative. It does not have to end here.

I would be honored for QWU members to join "Pattern Pastiche". If needed, we are more than happy to create a group for your new home.

Members of our guild, Coastal Prairie, are taking a bus trip / shop hop this Thursday, June 19th to visit shops in Conroe, Spring & Tomball.  We'll have lunch at a tea shop and visit all the interesting shops in Old Town Spring.  Can't hardly wait!  (Texan talk)

The next program being presented at Coastal Prairie Quilt Guild is Thurs. 09/19/13 at 10:00 a.m.  We will be learning multiple ways to construct the classic "flying goose" block.  We will also be having loads of fun!

I love to applique whether it be raw edge, needleturn, or by machine with some good ole zigzag...ha!

Will do.  Right now I am working on a weaving project so it may be awhile.  Maybe I will do some free motion IN the applique projects, LOL

I'm playing brave to try applique....maybe next it'll be free motion quilting.  Would love to hear how it goes for you.
