I can't decide which Spring postcard to do! I spent a lot of time going through my books and magazines to help me and it gave me too many options. I believe that I will just work on several and pick from the pile. That sounds like a plan. I just had to vent it out here. Now, I feel better.

Congratulations, Gwen on finishing your project! That was a big and fabulous job! Great job on getting into a juried show. I wish you get a ribbon, award or recognition for a job well done. If not, I award you!!!

Dale, I would loe to see phtos of your blooms. Your neighbors are fortunate to have your DH clear their driveway. I'd take that over a cake any day. Dale, "Who Dat?!" New Orleans, is my birth city, so I had to cheer them on!

So far, out on the west coast of BC, we have not had a bad winter. My crocuses and snow-drops are blooming and some rhododendrons are about to burst - all very unseasonable for us. However, at this time last year, we had about 2 1/2 feet of snow. We had new neighbours moving in next door and one day my husband went out to clear our driveway with the tractor. A while later, I looked out the window and there he was, cleaning the driveway next door. After we met the new neighbours, I explained that they got their driveway cleaned instead of a cake! No sewing this weekend - instead we had house-guests until about an hour before game time - then it was Super Bowl for the rest of the afternoon. Love those Saints!

Well, whew! I am finished with my project and have it ready to ship. It is posted on my page. It is a good-size pictorial. I had been itching to do this for awhile. It will be shipped out tomorrow to the quilt show in TN, 'A Mountain Quiltfest'.
What with the snow storm we had, I was tucked away in my shop working on this project. Hope you enjoy it!
Off to bed now for good nights rest-zzzzzzz
Have a great evening all!

Thanks for the update, Janet. Those were the good ole days. If your hand was not physically slapped, it was the "eyes" that gave you a virtual sting. LOL I did purchase a lot of beautiful batik fat quarters that I am drooling over.

I am ready to get to market to buy wholesale. I am spoiled (retail prices-uugh!) and need lots of new wholesale batik fabric.

It is raininy here and I need a nap. I will awake refreshed and ready to start my postcards. Stirfry veggies, lowfat sausage and rice for dinner. It is one of DH and my favorites. DD #2 (age 27) is happy that she no longer lives here because of the various stir frys. Any meat and veggie was open game for a quick stir fry. Superbowl snacks is lunch and dinner for tomorrow! My birthplace is New Orleans and I have to root for them! I am a novice football fan and DH is a fanatic.

Charlotte, sweetie, you have my utmost sympathy! My dh was out of work for over a yr & he just about drove me batty especially when he some how or another got the delusion that he was my boss! We finally worked it out though. Now when he gets like that I just give me "the eye". LOL

Diana, I have been talking about all the groups on CT to Kendra, but so far I haven't convinced her she needs to join. Maybe if you write to her she might give it more thought. Helen moved to Idaho about 2 yrs ago. She was diagnosed with MS & running the store plus still working her other job just got to be too much for her. I never did hear why she moved to Idaho though. When Darlene first sold the store she & Peter moved back to Ashland OR which is where her mom lived. Then when her mom passed away, they moved to Phoenix & opened the shop there. I think they have had it about 4 or 5 yrs now. It is a nice store, but a lot like FB was. I always had the feeling I was going to get my hand slapped if I messed up their display by taking bolts of fabric out to look at them! LOL

Gwen, your barn and the tree behind would make a nice image in fabric. I hope that you can get into your little shop and finish your project. All you need is a bathroom with a Roman tub to relax, after quilting.

My DH and I had a wonderful time rearranging the furniture, last week. We were on Staycation and had the carpets professionally shampooed (sp?). Normally, I do it all, but his input was fun and I just love the new living room. He returned to work and came home saying that he missed me a lot and even missed the comforts of home.

Now, I am trying to rise earlier and make meals for him each evening. After 35 years, I have decided to start cooking again. He will be working an hour later and I am beginning to enjoy this "domesticated" me. LOL.

Hi Janet, no, I did not know what happened to Darlene. Have you heard from Helen? She did co-own FB, correct? Yes, I do like to smaller store. I finally picked up a fabric punch card. In my infrequent trips, I just let my friend have my punches. I will email Kendra. Do you think that she would like to join this group? Her cards are just splendid! I will email her. The whole guild used to mix up our names because we we together all of the time.

lol. Poor Charlotte! But I can relate, believe me! Hubby has to do everything, 'cause he said the only I know is quiltin'...He's happy to sit in the tv room/ex-sewing room.
Well, breakfast over, dishes done, so out to the shop...which has all the plowed snow in front of it. Neighbor says, "What about getting the snow from the front of that building for her?"" Hubby said "She can tunnel thru it; she'll find a path around it". I asked him if he really said that. And he said "Yep, I did!". Oh well, I'm glad to have a place to go, in peace!
back later~
Charlotte Gustavson Comment by Charlotte Gustavson on February 6, 2010 at 8:35am
Gwen, my DH thinks every room in our house is my "fabric/quilt" stuff. He also thinks everything should fit in the attic, which is really where I sew. Only my quilting frame is in the basement. Personally, I think my DH is "spacially challenged"! He has to measure everything to make sure it will fit before "we" move it. This is one of the things that makes me crazy since he retired. I used to just rearrange the furniture while he was at work or on a trip ( the trips were when I repainted or re-papered!). Now we do everything "by committee".....which is why I quilt! It keeps me out of jail on Man-slaughter charges! LOL
