I'm sure it will look lovely! Are you going to hand piece it? Mine went together very quickly.

Handstitcher I looked up the pattern and downloaded it. I saw some beautiful new Christmas fabric in my local quilt shop. That I think will work beautifully with the pattern.

I think the original was done in higher contrast colors, similar to dark Christmas red and greens. It looked great! It was a featured project on one of their TV shows several years ago.

Lovely work, I could fancy this done in Christmas fabrics.

Thanks, Jody! It was a good choice for flannel since the pieces were all a larger size. Since it was my first attempt with flannel, I was afraid to go with a pattern with tiny pieces.

Handstitcher that is a neat pattern. Thanks for sharing I will have to see about downloading the pattern.

I finished my flannel table topper this week. The pattern is called Ozark Star and is a free download from the Fons and Porter website. It is hand pieced and quilted, except for sewing the binding on the front.

Now I'm working on the little hand stitcher wall hanging from the last issue of American Patchwork Quilting. I'm embroidering the center medallion first, but will piece the spool blocks by hand. Another good scrappy project for my stash!

Hi all sorry I have not been on any of my groups this last few weeks. Life just went crazy with a bunch of projects being due this Saturday. I am so tired right now I can hardly keep my eyes open hope all are doing well. Happy quilting

Jody, thanks for your good wishes for DH! He's feeling better but we're still getting answers. Good luck with your project! I'm not able to take on anything big right now, but I know I'll be sewing more pillowcases for cancer patients this summer. DD's scout troop is working on sewing and collecting those.

Katherine, I know I saw and commented on your quilt in another group, but it really is lovely! The colors are very cheerful and your hand quilting shows up beautifully.

I've been making templates for a hand pieced table topper made out of flannels. I've never used flannels for a quilt before, but I won a set of 6 fat quarters at a quilt show years ago and have been looking for a way to use them. Has anyone here done any hand piecing with flannel? Any tips for me? As luck would have it, I saw Love of Quilting on TV yesterday and they were making a flannel quilt. It was machine sewn, but I did learn more about using flannel vs. cotton.
