Quilt With Us

I started the LA Modern Quilt Guild with Alissa from Handmade By Alissa just a few months ago and it's been a blast. This weekend we'll have our first "Sewing Saturday" where we'll all get together with lots of modern/contemporary quilters and sew for hours! I can't wait. Each of our guild meetings have been filled with rooms full of amazing contemporary and modern quilters.

In any case, through many contacts in blogland, the Modern Quilt Guild is spreading across the country and there are Guilds sprouting up all over the country. Check out Alissa's blog post for more info!

Where do you meet? I belong to several different quilting groups in So Orange County.
Hey Sally, currently we meet at Home Ec in Silverlake - sign up at the site and you'll see the calendar. It is so awesome to quilt with a group that has your same aesthetic and taste. It's been so much fun. It's spreading all over the nation (www.themodernquiltguild.com) with guilds popping up in major cities everywhere. As interest grows maybe it'll serve us to have an Orange County chapter. . . .
Come down to Orange County and visit with our guilds. I belong to Flying Geese Quilters Guild in Irvine (meets the second Monday in month) and Orange Grove Quilters Guild (meets 2nd Wednesday in Month in Garden Grove)

Orange Grove has a quilt show in November at our meeting place (check out our web site.
Flying Geese has a quilt auction in October 23. Always a good place to get holiday presents and enjoy beautiful quilts.
