Just a gentle reminder to all -- please remember to start discussions about individual items within their appropriate category. While most folks will know how to use a "search" engine, perhaps not all will. There may be some who use the "click and scroll" technique of locating info. It's not a big deal, but helpful.

I did find that the Thangles markings are accurate. Lana

I haven't used Thangles, but I have used "Star Singles" (by Spinning Star Design). Using a pair of 5" squares, you make 8 half-square sets that finish at 1 and a half inches. I'm sure they're available in many sizes. I first used these in a class and before we started sewing with them, the teacher informed the group of us that the markings aren't as accurate as they should be, so make your stitching line slightly toward the cutting line. I like that it was so easy to make all of those triangle sets, although that inaccuracy of the markings has me on the fence. If thangles have better markings than these, I could say that yes, I do like thangles even though I've never used them, but rather a similar product.

Cindy, I am using them for a BOM that I'm participating in. They do create perfect half square triangles, but like Barb said they take longer. To me, it feels rather tedious. But I am using them just for this one project so I can get the experience. For me they wouldn't be my first choice of techniques. But it's one more option. Hope you enjoy your project. Lana

Cindy, I do like them -I use them occasionally! They do make perfect half square triangles. It takes longer, what with having to tear off the paper, etc, but for small HST, it's worth the time!! I usually reduce my stitch length to help with that!

Have any of you ever used THANGLES? If so do you like them? I am doing a BOM with them and I would like to hear if you like them or not.

Welcome, Marylyn! Glad you're come aboard. Always feel free to contribute. Tell us your experiences and ask your questions.
That's what makes this group so helpful to our quilting community.

What a wonderful idea this is Schatze! So many quilt related things in the world and only so much time that being able to get a recommendation from a fellow quilter is super! Thank you.
