Dona those are great ideas, I think that would be really fabulous!
I am still doing the 13 by 13 layout with a border. I will try no to duplicate squares but look for alternative ones on my software that I have. I will duplicate triangles. I am going to pick out 13 pieced triangles that I like and do them in 4 different colors.
I am also thinking about doing the applique blocks into a wall hanging to match the quilt.
Dona, you are absolutely right - this is your quilt and you should do whatever appeals to you the most! It will still be fabulous without the applique blocks - there is such a variety of blocks, that I don't think the applique will be missed at all.
You could make it a little smaller overall, and just eliminate the applique, and re-arrange the remaining blocks -- or you could keep the same number of blocks and substitute duplicates of some of your favorites -- or you could substitute some completely different blocks altogether.
What are your thoughts?
Patricia your blocks and top look amazing. I am thinking about modifying my squares. I really want the quilt on my bed so I am thinking about not doing the applique blocks. I really don't like the applique with wonder under. I know that this is my quilt and I can do what I want. What do you think?
I-9. Any block that I can go into the dustbin to get pieces for, has pieces that are just too small! I really wanted to make this one in something bolder than yellow, but just seemed to need a yellow at this junction in the quilt area - nothing else seemed to work. So yellow it is.
I-8. This looks like the last easy one in this row. The rest look pretty challenging.
I-7. I row over half done ;-)
Here is I-3. I have I-4 and 5 done previously. The rest in this row look a bit challenging....
Oh I dearly wish you would Dona - it's very lonely out here! ;-)
