Good morning designers. A quick question for all.....Have any of you been a vendor at any International Quilt Market? If so, do you have any ideas that you came away with that will help others like me. I was at the Portland Spring Market May 2008 and not sure about how my booth looked. I can't put my finger on it but just wasn't happy. I'm going to Spring Market again in May in Pittsburgh, PA 2009. I am doing a half booth but would love some ideas from you to toss around and maybe even work into a new look. Thanks in advance for any support.

Karen: Thanks for telling me about this group and thanks most of all for the gracoius remarks on my pattern, Gifts Galore. It's essential that some of us designers keep in touch with each other. We're just normal people and we get in slumps too. Having others in your same shoes helps to motivate and encourage. Also there is nothing like having one of your customers say something nice about you and /or your patterns that gets you going and make you want to drop everything and march right into your sewing room and start sewing or creating. Thanks again and as always, I'm look forward to play with my new toy, CT's Quilting Community. Hurray to you for coming up with this idea.

I am currently working on a set of geisha girl applique wall hangings. That is my "relax in the evening in front of the TV" project. In between I have been doing a lot of quilting for Victoria's Quilts Canada (for Cancer patients) and I also have a double bed quilt for our spare room that I need to get going on. Oh yes, I can't forget the mystery quilt that I am doing as well

Hi from Texas. I enjoy all aspects of quilting, but would love to get more involved in creating. Mostly I've done traditional, but always change something. I'm working on a be colorful quilt by Jacqueline De Jonge and am enlarging the pattern to fit my king size bed. My poor husband just shakes his head. It will probably take me until May to finish. I've got a fourth done so far. What are you all working on?

Hi Jane!
I took Marily Belford's class on QU and learned her tech. for the portraits.I agree, that was a lot of fun. She makes it all very do-able. I gleaned a lot of info. in the class that I wanted to know, about using Photoshop. She was a great help. I use that tech. with lots of quilt projects now, not just with photos.

Good morning everyone. Jane in FL. I agree that I get tired of the patterns, probably because they are so repetitive in nature. I can do a baby quilt that way and my stash of unfinished projects will testify my getting bored. I took a class on quilt university some time ago about designing and it was great. I'm looking forward to discussions here to see what comes up.

I am new to this group and hope to make friends and get ideas. I am the type of person that gets tired of the pre-set patterns very quickly. I have been quilting for about 5 years, and designing for at least 4 of those years. Soon, maybe, I can start marketing some of my designs. They range from modifying someone elses patterns, to completely original designs. What Fun!!!
