Double Wedding Ring Challenge

I seem to know lots of quilters that would like to make a double wedding ring quilt, but just never seem to get around to it... maybe because of the curved piecing or because of feeling unsure about color choices or they want to make it scrappy and don't have enough scraps (yea, like that would ever happen.... ). Anyway, I propose a challenge! Let's make double wedding ring quilts. I know it would be motivating to me to have others working on the same project to encourage, give information, help with color choices, and share progress. Now is the time to create that double wedding ring masterpiece that you've been putting off. Think about those young people you know that will one day be getting married and would love to have a double wedding ring quilt as a wedding gift. The fabrics in the sample above are from the Mama's Cottons collection.

Congrats, Amy!  You did it!  And it turned out beautifully.  Was this the "Rings That Bind" method?  They will love it!

Fini!  It is finished.  The end.  The wedding is in a few days.

I wish that was the case but the company was really nice and I had them here within two days of ordering.

I thought you were going to tell us you found them as soon as you ordered the new ones.  That's usually the way it goes at my house.

was getting ready to cut the melons and centers when I realizied that my templates where gone. after tearing up my sewing room I finally broke down and ordered new ones to replace the ones that were lost. I now know what happened but it is a long sad story. anyway I am now ready to get back to is as the replacements arrived today! yeah!!

Leah, the DWRs are definitely a lot of work, but your sense of satisfaction when you finish it makes it all worth it.  Hope this encourages you to work on it from time to time.  You'll love seeing it on your bed.

Hi, just joined this group. I too have a ufo dwr. I saw it on fons and porter and just had to make it. I got all the pieces cut except the melons and centers all in batiks. wanted to finish it for our 20th but that has come and gone. bought a special foot so hopefully that will help me finally get this finished.

Welcome, Kim.  Looking forward to pictures.  I am in total agreement about the time in which you've given yourself.  Even if they get it by their 10th anniversary, it's all good.  :D

Hi!  New here!  I have a DWR that is a UFO.  I started it for my dd who got married in October 2012. I figure if I get it to them by their fifth anniversary I'm good!  When my new camera arrives later this week, I'll pull it out and post some pics.
