Double Wedding Ring Challenge

I seem to know lots of quilters that would like to make a double wedding ring quilt, but just never seem to get around to it... maybe because of the curved piecing or because of feeling unsure about color choices or they want to make it scrappy and don't have enough scraps (yea, like that would ever happen.... ). Anyway, I propose a challenge! Let's make double wedding ring quilts. I know it would be motivating to me to have others working on the same project to encourage, give information, help with color choices, and share progress. Now is the time to create that double wedding ring masterpiece that you've been putting off. Think about those young people you know that will one day be getting married and would love to have a double wedding ring quilt as a wedding gift. The fabrics in the sample above are from the Mama's Cottons collection.

Congrats Pam on completing your DWR and I love that you got to sleep under it already!  Do you already have the binding for it?

The quilting is done.  Now on to the binding -- not that the lack of a binding prevented us from sleeping under the quilt last night.

Probably a little of both, Pam.  I remember when I did mine that I was SO excited to get that binding on. :)

I'm not sure if it will be a sigh of relief or a shout of joy when I finish the quilting. Clearly I'm motivated all that I have left to quilt are the 8 cornerstones and 1 set of arcs and melons. I don't think we've got any major plans for tonight so I think I'm going to try and finish it tonight.

I think I used the same quilting template as what you did.

Good for you, Pam.  That is a lot of work but what a treasure you will have.

Awesome! What a sigh of relief we will be hearing from you when that final stitch has been put in! Love the fabric in this one, you'd never be able tell is that old. It's timeless

Good job, Pam!  It's lovely.

This "corner" is all the quilting  I have left to do on my DWR. After nearly 25 years (bought the fabric in Sept 1989) I think I'm going to finally get it finished.
