My Great grandmother always made crab apple jelly each year. It was my favorite. We used to have a tree in back of my Dad's house but I don't think it's there any more.

We had mail delivery today. No holiday that I know of.

I did get my grocery shopping done this morning before the rains moved it. I didn't have much to get since I'm leaving again on Thursday morning for the weekend.

I haven't ever seen clothes but the day I was leaving Florida, the new LQS that I found was having a class on making a tee shirt blouse. They had some pretty fabrics ( knits?)  in the store for it and they posted some pictures on FB and they looked great.

Hi. I guess I missed my morning visit. It was so nice that I took a walk up to my pond and listened to the frogs sing. My very old crabapple tree is blooming. It might be a Bradford pear but has only had very small green apple like fruit on it so DS calls it a crabapple.

Listen to Thel, Mary Alice. If you like that design for the dress just use the fabric you like. Put your foot up girl.

Yum. I thought about mac n cheese with the ham. Maybe I'll get a box of Kraft out of the cupboard. Not the same as homemade but I like it yoo.

Froggie is Easyer Monday a Gov. holiday? Wonder if there's mail today. I should go to my mailbox.

I got some of the bonus blocks made from the GE Strip in a Box  quilt.  I have enough triangle blocks to make 8 bonus blocks. Sort of a weird # to work with.

Sort of sprinkle this evening. Maybe the mushrooms wilt pop up.  I did cut a few asparagus spears.

Have a good eve.

I like how many dresses these days a longer in the back.  I have a couple LulaRoe that are like that.  MANY years ago, when I was a teen age dressmake, I used to make dresses for a lady in our church who was very heavy in the backside.  The biggest bottom I'd ever seen at that time.  I crack me up.   She contracted me to make her dresses with the back way longer than the front so that when she wore them, they would hang straight on her.   I got it figured out and she had some beautiful dresses.  That sure was better than looking at the top of her thighs when you were walking behind her at church.     Oh my!  the craziest memories pop into my head sometimes.

Beautiful flower, Thel.

Definitely put your foot up, Mary Alice. I think that bit of yard work had you moving your foot in a way that stressed the incision and that's why it burns. You don't realize you're moving differently than just when you're plain walking around. I like that pattern too. Especially that the shorter one is a little longer in the back.

You've already had a busy day Mary Alice.  I vote for putting your foot up and using the push button on your machine.  That way you can do both !

I like that dress.  With all the fabric options out there, you certainly don't need to use horizontal stripes just because that's what they show.   It'd be nice in anything from a solid to big flowers or anything in between.  Looks like a knit/jersey would be ideal.   I used to love sewing my own clothes.  Haven't done that in many years.

I took a nice walk around the yard. Yup, there's still a big piece of Styrofoam out there.  I thought maybe it'd made it's way to Froggies by now.

I did find this beauty tho, all by herself standing tall.

Well be reaching the 90s by the end of the week.  It's going to start getting hot.  Need to find my shorts and capri's.  I also thought of making this nice looking comfy dress to wear with slip on Sketcher's tennis shoes?  I don't like horizontal lines on my fabrics though.

Everyone's dinner sounds fabulous!  I'd love some mac and cheese.  I don't make it because mom doesn't like mac and cheese.  I should find a  good recipe and put it in freezer containers.  Then I can pull one out when I want mac and cheese.

Hope you got to commissary and stocked up the fridge, Froggie!

I got up early and irrigated the pecan trees, rose bushes and oleanders.  Part of the grass too, but I avoided getting my feet wet. I must have over done it because the incision part burns a bit.  Either that or it's the Epsom salt soak.

I'm ready now to take it easy after heating up leftovers for lunch.  I want to sew today.  Need to catch up on classes, but just want something easy that I don't have to think hard about how to put it together.

Mom got to putter around the yard this morning, so I hope that helped her mood.  She's been very negative lately, stating how she's not good for anything now.  What she wants to do, she can no longer do nor has the strength to do.  But I'm happy she walked around the yard.  She did manage to stoop down and pull a couple weeds from wet ground.  I badly need to mow lawn and pick up the pecan in the dark shell that have fallen off the tree.  But that will have to wait till Dr states it's okay to go back to doing my regular things.

I managed to make baked potatoes in the Ninja Foodi in 35 minutes.  The skin was nice and crispy too!  So happy I discovered that method.  I love salads and loaded baked  taters!

Definitely, if I'm going out to lunch or dinner, I want to sit down and have the waiter/waitress get everything I need.  It's rare that I sit through a whole meal at home.  Usually getting up for this or that throughout the meal. But even then, mom goes though what she'll eat, then is trying to flag down the waitress for a box.  Now I tell the waitress up front to bring a box for her.

I'm off for a quick lunch, and then I'll decide if I want to sew or  put my foot up.

Kim, I love everything on your Easter dinner menu!! I always serve mashed taters (not potato toes . . .) with ham because everyone loves them, but they love my mac n cheese too. One of these days I'll have to make both. Then everyone will expect that every time we have ham!

It's such a beautiful morning and start to the day.  The sun is shining, there's a light breeze and a fresh smell to the air.

Emm,   ham with mac & cheese is one of my favorite meals.  Your mom forgot to send me leftovers Kim.

I agree Froggie, if I'm gonna pay to go out, I wanna be waited on - with an occasional exception.  There is an incredible Chinese buffet uptown that Joe and go to occasionally.

Potatoes toes? !   What did I miss?  OH I see Froggie found it.   That cracks me up.

You said the 'c' word Froggie.  Shame on you!  Why would they be closed today?

I better get the trash out!
