Hi Ladies....I see you are all doing well...although working hard....I think my yard work is done for the year although ALL the leaves are still hanging on, so more raking soon! I am far behind but wish everyone a safe sewing week!

I will get a picture for you, Kathleen! And blocking out the license plate is a good idea, thanks.

Thanksgiving cactus, Carol? That's what I need.

There's a thing in the shower head that slows down the flow, Alice. You can take it out. I like a good strong flow, too. I hope your brother does that work for you, too. Be careful! We don't want you to break your body.

How fun, Susan! Enjoy your visit with your friends.

Good idea to watch online church when you oversleep, Barbara! We don't want you showing up in your fuzzy robe and slippers. I crack me up.

That's nice, Kathleen, the one dinner actually works for two dinners! That will be easy on you. I love chicken parm. I got me a hand project next to me, but haven't worked on it for a while. I'm waiting for my eye to feel good. It's not bad, but still gets tired in the evening. And it's still blurry.

I did the greeter thing at church for the first time. I was the only greeter. They usually have two. Pastor Linda came and checked on me, and she was kind of panicked, because Pastor Michael is sick, so he decided he had to stay home. She was scrambling to find people to help out. I think there were people that were supposed to help out that didn't show. And they showed the sermon from the online one he recorded a few days ago. It was very good. Now I am home for a while, and back up there. Oh and I looked at the pumpkins, they really have sold a lot! The small ones are all gone, the cute gourds and things.

I better go get in the quilting room to play for a little while.

Thanks Kim. Herschners sounds familiar from when I used to do a lot of needlework (back in the 70s probably). I'll check them out again.

Sounds like an enjoyable visit with good friends, Susan. Good that you took them up on their offer.

Can't remember if I mentioned I made chicken parm yesterday for dinner. It made four pieces, so DH said let's finish it today for dinner. Which makes me happy. I rarely get to serve a leftover meal unless it's soup or stew. DH always eats the leftovers for lunch or one of his other multiple meals during the day.

I never did check the temperature this morning, but right now at noon it's 46 degrees. Peeks of sun once in awhile.

I should get some blocks made for Gigi's quilt since I have an easy meal plan for today. I also need to get another hand sewing project ready so I have something to do while watching tv (other than snacking . . .) ;o)

I'll have a slice of that pumpkin pie, Barbara.

Good morning All.

Hi there Susan, So glad you and DH are having a good time visiting, Drive carefully.

Alice I think a lot of guys are on a different time frequency than us gals. Hope your DS  gets the pump ready for winter. Those things are expensive to replace. My shower has both the regular head and the handheld. The handheld has a little lever you can change the water presur with. I like a more powerful stream too.

I'm ready to get my Boo levard quilting done but nees to decide what I want to do. I may just keep it simple.

I made a pumpkin pie and have spaghetti sauce cooking for dinner. Yes, I did FB church today, I didn't really want to leave the space heaters going when I wasn't home. Besides, I had trouble sleeping and then overslept.

I hope my cacti bloom this year. i knew there wer different seasonal ones. I think there is an Easter one too. Mine are looking OK but don'e have any buds yet.

Good morning everyone. I am so far behind I decided to read only the last two pages. Prayers for Marilyn and DH, Rita and DH, and all of my Quilty friends.

We have very dear friends in Cleveland, OH that we have known since 1976. After much urging from them last Monday we decided to drive up for a visit. It is doing DH a world of good, he needed to see someone beside me and the drs. It is cool and the leaves are beuatiful. We will probably head home tomorrow. DH has to much equipment for us to fly, only road trips in our future.

Have a blessed day everyone.

Good morning!  Been up since 4am enjoying some cooking and sewing videos and drinking my coffee.

Got the hand held shower head installed in my bathroom, and I’m very disappointed with the water flow.  My old shower head through out water nice, this new one must be a water saver because it just nicely trickles.  Mom will love it though since she always said my shower was too hard and it hurt her.

Hoping we can give mom a bath today, change her sheets and add a comforter to her bed.  Cold front comes in tonight.  Still never got around to adding thick plastic to screen door in kitchen. That might have to wait.  Cold front should last only a couple days then start to warm up again.  But we are expecting the first freeze on Tuesday morning and snow.  We rarely get snow, so we shall see what we get.

Carol, that plant is exactly what’s dying now.  Mom has had that plant for several years.  There’s a portion of it still alive.  Wondering if I can just transplant it into a new pot and hope it survives.  It produced a wonderful double magenta colored flower.  Sure brightened up the place in winter.

Marilyn, hoping your tummy feels better soon, and both you and your DH get well soon.  Do you have to retest soon?

I’m hoping my brother comes to drain and cover up the irrigation pump.  It is under a nice fully covered house, so we’ll see what he decides.  But it better not freeze and crack pump, or he’s going to buy the next one.  That cover on the house is too heavy for me to pick up by myself, and we prop it up with a long 2x4.   I’m thinking I may have to call Javier to make a new one with that door he wanted to put in last time.  Eventually, my brother and I will not be able to lift that heavy roof over it’s house.

Barbara, I was wondering why you were cutting all those 1.5 inch strips.  So I checked out Gudrun’s video from Friday.  Very pretty new quilts in that book.  Like most, I loved the Dizzy Daisy.

My brother and SIL brought our groceries, and sadly it seems Walmart ran out of Romaine lettuce and bananas.  I only got one banana in my order.  This means I need to go to the little store here, and see if they have an iceberg lettuce (that’s all they carry) and some decent looking bananas.

I think I won’t be doing any cleaning today.  I’ll just do what mom needs done—shower and changing her bed sheets, and do that laundry.  And help my brother with the irrigation pump, if he decides to do it today.  My brother has to be “in the mood” to get things done here.

Both my "Christmas Cactus" plants have buds too.  I think from reading this description, I actually have Thanksgiving Cactus plants, one white, one pink.  Never knew there was such a thing but from reading the description of the plant itself, it sounds right.

Good morning, beautiful morning here. 42 degrees out now with a medium breeze that is sending the leaves tumbling to the ground.

DH just left to go on a motorcycle ride. They are meeting up and taking the ferry to Connecticut to ride before the season is over. Should be a beautiful day for a ride. No idea what time he will be home so I think I will make chicken noodle soup and it will be ready when he gets back.

Kathleen, the Halloween CCS I'm doing is stitched on white Aida cloth that is is a 14 count. I like ordering basic stuff from Herrschners. They carry DMC floss and the fabrics. I found a great shop on Etsy called Needle Case Goodies and she is fantastic. She carries lots of brand new releases along with special fabrics and threads. I have been collecting some patterns from her that are designed by Waxing Moon designs. There are 3 little scenes to stitch and they correspond to the seasons. I use a regular spring tension round hoop. It's what I learned on and the only thing that I have tried. Herrschners has a lot of kits with everything included that would be good to start with. The key though is to have a good light.

Today is laundry day and hopefully I can tackle the blocks that are waiting for me. The race doesn't come on till late this afternoon though so I need to find something on tv to watch. Maybe something on the Hallmark channel. It must almost be time for the Christmas movies to start soon.

I just noticed a few days ago that my Christmas cactus has buds on it already. It's from my Great grandmother and I have had it for probably 30 years.

Well I better get myself together here and get the chickens fed and the laundry started.

Have a great day...

I can tell you're real excited about tomorrow, Froggie. You'll have to post a picture of your Trick or Trunk for us. But block out the license plate please :o)

I cut out more fabric for Gigi's quilt today. It's tea time now. Not sure if I will sew tonight or just watch tv. Nothing good on, but I did find a feel-good hallmark type movie. Everyone needs feel-good hallmark type movies right now.

You were busy today, Alice! Lots of veggie prep and stuff. I would like a Christmas Cactus, too. I like cactusses. Cacti. My aloe likes a lot of water, and I always thought succulents didn't need much. BUt this one sure sucks the water down.

I'm spitting mad with you, Kathleen! Gees Louise, get that thing outta there!

Look at you, Dr. Kim! I hope the doctor gave Finn some antibiotics. And come back in a week.

I'm praying with you, Marilyn. And that you and DH feel better soon. Some canned soups are really good. I don't like the regular Campbell''s chicken noodle soup, but the bigger cans with big noodles and bigger chunks of chicken are really good! And if you have saltines to eat with it, yum. With homemade oatmeal cookies? Yum, that is so good. I like everything at Olive Garden! Yum. I hope you feel better soon, and you get in your rich mood. I don't like poor moods either.

I keep seeing my new Avatar and thinking it's someone else. I crack me up. I got the ME part of the banner done today. And we were talking about the prairie points the other day, and that popped in my head for this banner! I will have to look on You Tube for some ideas for them.

I think I have everything figured out for tomorrow. This is going to be fun. And I want to do a mummy theme for next year. So, I am planning to check out the Party Galaxy the day after Halloween to see what I can find.
