Hi Thel. We miss you when your gone for so long. Nice haircut. We can't wait to bring Tessa home.

Beautiful picture Kathleen.  What a happy girl enjoying her pillow.

I read some but got sidetracked again, so not gonna try to completely catch up.  Love the stabilizer roll thingy Froggie.  Great idea,  what a lot of stuff you have.  Must be cause of that embroidery machine.

I've been participating in a Daniel Fast with a lot of my church friends.  That means I've been cooking some pretty cool stuff,  the crux is a simple diet.  No meat, dairy or sugar.  If strict, NO processed foods at all.  I've been somewhere mid way and allowed myself a bit of processed food like triscuits and sprouted bread.    We'll be having a special worship service Tuesday evening to wrap up the 21 days of prayer.

I've got some of the Stash Buster blocks made but haven't gotten to any for a few days.

I think I'll make some roti to go with a hot bowl of vegetable soup.  I made a big pot of soup yesterday.   Today is definitely a soup kinda day.   I've got more curtains than usual closed and the big quilt I hang on hooks across the front door (old door with gaps leaking cold air in) to help cozy the place up.  I made that cover from big curtain sample squares my sister had sent long ago.  Not pretty, but functional.

Yes, my machine has those push buttons as well to raise and lower presser foot, plus needle up and down, and that knee raise bar.  I'm having to use the push button start stop to sew, I use my hand to push knee bar to raise presser foot.

Been busy all morning.  Every time I say I'm doing nothing but rest, it seems a whole load of stuff falls on my plate to get done.  I had to do mom's laundry.  I've got some laundry too but that might wait till tomorrow.

Started cleaning out fridge and discovered I'd taken out an andouille sausage to make with red beans on Monday, well I've got that in the Instant pot now.  I'll cook some white rice or brown rice with it later on for dinner.  It's a new recipe, so I hope it's good.

One of my friends keeps telling me to invest in dehydrated foods for ease in preparation and in case of emergency.  I might look into that.

Off to fold clothes and see how much of the football game I can get to see

So glad you had the young help with the snow Rita.  That's a LOT of snow.  As much as I hate the ice,  I'm glad all that moisture wasn't snow here.  Yuck.

Aww,  Tessa,  you are too adorable.  Look at those hands she has to grow into.  What a beautiful face.

That Doctor pillow is really cool Kathleen.  I bet she loves it.

Yikes at least 10 pages to catch up on.   Life has been so busy,  I keep kicking myself for not getting here.  I keep starting to and get interrupted.

Staying healthy but busy.  Some of the busy out of the house and some inside.  I've made some personal commitments about my devotions etc that are keeping me busy.    I've been reading more and starting my day without my computer on.

Today it is COLD out, very cold at minus 10°.   At least the sun is shining so it's melting the ice storm we had for two days.

I joined the Y the end of last week.  I'm starting a Stretch & Flex class tomorrow.

I got a haircut, looks great.

Oh good, Barbara! I hope they don't weigh 150 pounds.

Good thing you figured that out, Alice. I wish I could fix my pains that easy!

I don't have a winter cat or summer  cat, Carol Ann! You crack me up. I didn't catch that when I read Barbara's post. She cracks me up too.

You didn't take your winter cat to Florida, Kim? You knew you wouldn't need it. Yes, these are machine embroidery. I'm also working on some hand ornaments too. THe boys will have a variety when I am finished. I don't know how long I am going to keep it up, at first I thought when they turned 21. But DGS1 is 22, and I made him one for this year. Maybe 25. Maybe until I croak.

Oh yeah, my machines have the pivot feature, Alice. I can push a button, and when I stop stitching, the presser foot wiill come up and the needle stays in the fabric. I love that feature. I always turn it on.

After church today, I went to Kohl's with my friend. SHe wanted to get new jeans. We wandered around, and we got to the kitchen stuff, and I remembered I need to buy a can opener. One was on sale for $24, and I had $10 Kohl's cash I forgot about, plus another 20% off, gives you $13. total. I am happy! I think I need to decide what I am going to do this afternoon.

My winter cats are taking turns keeping my lap warm. I saw my typo but thought it worked so left it.

No church today. Many of the area churches closed due to 20-30* below wind chills and actual single did it temps. The roads didn't get cleared before the hard freeze set in either. I think my garage door was frozen shut as I heard DS beating on it to loosen it. He came over and spread some deicer and then had lunch.

Oh good Alice. At least you know what's aggravating your hip. I use the knee lift a lot. Once I got used to it, I love it. I also have gotten used to my fancy foot pedal that I can tap to cut the thread or reverse.

Kim you need five 4 patches for each block. Then you need a bunch of 9 patches for that border. Hope you get a lot of stitching done and don't have any calls.

I better get busy and work on those EB blocks. Oh, the QIAD site has a bunch of free sewing themed blocks offered. I doubt I'll ever make them but they are cute.

The wind has dumped the burdened on the ground so I should refill them.

Have a good one.

Good morning, our snow from yesterday is all gone already. Washed away by the rain that moved in last evening. It is suppose to get really windy and very cold later today into tonight.

Those winter cats are hard to find. When we were in Florida over Thanksgiving there were a few days when the temperature was down in the 40's and 50's and the year round residents were freezing. We went to a fair one day and people were bundled up. We thought it was pretty funny.

That is a wonderful picture Kathleen. Addie looks like a very happy child and she looks thrilled with her doctors pillow.

I started cutting the additional pieces for Frolic last night and then did quite a bit of sewing. I got most of the sets of flying geese put together. Since I was covering on squad for a few hours last night I decided to use it sewing. Doing the traffic jam 4 patches as a leader/ ended and my stack of 4 patches keeps getting larger. I have no idea how many I need or what size I'm making. I'm thinking just a lap size for the couch.

I love your CCS ornaments Froggie. Were they done on your machine? They look like you did them by hand but then you mentioned the weight of thread for the machine so now I'm confused. It's really not that hard to confuse me though. My DH does it all the time. He will be talking about one thing and mid sentence will start talking about something else and I have no idea at that point what he's talking about.

I'm glad you figured out what is causing you pain Mary Alice. Can you just use the foot pedal with your machine? My machine came with one of those knee raise bars but I have never used it.

Well time to fill the feeders and feed the chickens.

Have a great day...

Oh yeah, Barbara, wind chill temperatures below zero will definitely require winter cats!!  We only have summer cats here in California!

Finally done deboning turkey and washing dishes.  It’s been a long day. I did manage to sew a few blocks on the stash Buster 2019.  Discovered what is causing my right hip pain.  It’s my pushing the foot raising lever with my right knee.  While I did that today, I had a shooting pain. Guess it’s back to using my hand on that lever.  With these newer machines, there’s no hand raising lever on back or side of presser foot.  Plus I need to use the push button to sew now. It takes longer, but it works.

Kim, I’ll look at the 12 inch block. I got 3 half yard bundles from Bluprint, so I’ll find one to use.

off to rest.
