Oh, My Dear Friend - Francine...Shingles....are horrible.  Itch, painful...I asked the doctor about "Lyrica"??  I think you would need a script.  But, for me, It was a miricle drug.  Don't let anyone touch you...it hurts.  When we think we have troubles...Someone else is having more...Please, take it slow and easy...I know easy to say...hard to do.  Your Pal, No hugs today, don't want to hurt you...just sending a kiss your way...Anne

I, too, had shingles on my face near my eyes.  I went to the doctor, but my doctor was not in so I had to see the PA and he misdiagnosed it.  He did give me an antibiotic for a sinus infection.  I did have those symptoms, but it wasn't what was wrong.  When I went back to my doctor a few weeks later, he asked me about the fresh scar on my face.  He immediately knew what it was, but by that time it had run its course.  He did talk to the PA about his error.  So take care.

I was a ND fan, too.  I loved Louisa May Alcott's books, Anne of Green Gables, and got into historical novels.  Loved to read.

Anne, I am glad that you are getting the house taken care of.  It is so much easier when the professionals take over.  My remodeling is still not finished, but my sewing room is all finished except for the painting of the laundry room doors.  We are waiting for drier and warmer weather so we can paint them outside.  A secret passage, how romantic.

I have yet to do a scrappy quilt - other than the memory quilt after my hubby died, and even it was somewhat structured although I was using his shirts. Those shirts each gave me about a 6 X 6 piece, except for the oxford one which was all used up.

Good for you Lou Ann!  Put it in a special place because if you have to make flying geese its invaluable.  However, if your flying geese are scrappy you can't use that method :-(

No Trixie here either. Mari, I'm in the process of redoing my sewing room and just found that tool in my stuff. Hooray!!!!

Francine, treat it like chicken pox - no scratching, or if you do wash your hands. You can send it to another place, I think. I'm glad that they have meds now, as when my mom had them - they didn't. I've never had a childhood disease, so don't have to worry about that. Before you think that is a good thing - I had a lot of nasty ones instead.

Francine, take care of yourself and get better.  Those things can be very painful.

Mari - love that quilt, not too sure about all the geese to make it.  That's a whole lot of geese flying around!

Carol - I heard of Trixie Belden, but didn't read any - I too read all the Nancy Drew books.  Our library had the whole series.  I also read all the Hardy Boys too.  And to this day I still love a good mystery story.  Librarian could always tell when I was being punished becasue I didn't make my usual Saturday trip to the library.  My mom would take away my books when I was a naughty little girl and oh how I would beg and plead to go to the Library - but she stood her ground.  So I would be a little angel, but she never gave in early and I had to take my punishment - but the first day it was done, I would be back at the Library to get a whole new stack of books!  Some lessons have to be learned the hard way!

Lou Anne ~ there is a ruler out called, Flying Geese Xs 4 No Math Ruler.  The pattern gave the finished size of the flying geese and I used the ruler to make them.  That ruler is awesome!  There is a video on how ot use it at this website.  Very cool!  http://www.lazygirldesigns.com/books.php

Ooooh, shingles are painful.  Follow doctor's orders and hope you are better very soon.
