Not a nice note on which to end the week, eh? Let's hope Mari checks in over the weekend to let us know what's going on. But who knows? The three of them may have joined the NC's political campaign and we'll see them in the news.

Oh no, I just realized I haven't seen Kristin lately, so I looked at the staff pictures. Neither Kristin or Darlene is on the staff pics! What has hopppened? This is a sad, sad day.

I only bought two, Gayle. I am sitting here wondering if I can sell my three machines and the quilt frame and buy an embroidery machine! Yikes! What a turn around. I just wonder how much thread and stabilizer you have to buy to be able to make something.
On a really sad note, I just got a message from CT that Karen was laid off! How sad, I just love her. I thought we were buying enough CT fabric to keep everyone employed! Maybe Obama will pass the CT bail-out bill, and Karen will come back!

Froggie, How many of those t-shirts did you buy @ $24.00 ? I want to learn how to do things like that with my machine soon. I have a collection of the embroidery designs to make the ornaments like the Santa but haven't gotten to them yet.

What a great story, Anne!
Pepper, glad to see you back, and glad you had a great time camping.
What a great santa, Lynne, how big is it? A small tree with embroidered ornaments would look great.
Yes, Trevi, I think coneys are on weight watchers, but you have to walk for ten miles after eating one!
Wow, Gayle, that's cool, I hate altering.
And Sandy, I bet your mum was great! Wedding dresses? Now that's impressive.
Let's all hop over to Diane's for lunch, I love spaghetti. I will bring a salad.
I'm working on my jack-o-lanterns, maybe tonight I can give them faces.
I am wearing a new t shirt today, there's a few quilt blocks and it says - 'The quilter's diet
0 carbs
lots of fiber'
Two ladies just started their business, they ebroider it on t shirts, on the top left, the whole thing is maybe 3" square. Nice and small. I love it. Now if I just had an embroidery machine, I could charge people $24 for a t shirt and get away with it!

Hi Gayle, my mum took in alterations too and hated it in the end - she tried hard to make a size 16 kilt fit a size 20 woman but!!!
I remember the evening dresses she made herself (Vogue patterns) and the wedding dresses for young women. She made my sister's wedding dress with train and veil then he 2 bridesmaid dresses. She made my outfit too - no frills or lace for me though - I wanted short and elegant which is what I got - it was lovely. These memories are so comforting and give days a golden tinge that makes me smile.
