Sisters we are. All for one and one for all. I have a sister, but she lives in PA and we don't talk often AND she doesn't sew, quilt, or anything. Guess i was the only one that inherited Mom's genes for sewing. Kit

I don't have a sister either Dee - except for quilting sisters so count me in! We tease each other, laugh and cry with each other so I think sisters is a good name for us!

Thanks Froggie for being my sister. You sound like a fun person. After 12 years of caring for my mom at home, I could sure use some fun times. I was about as home abound as she was because I couldn't leave her without 2 people to care for her the last several years. Your right. We can always meet here - day or night.

Oh ranchmom, you are right, that IS the henhouse. There sure were a lot of women and their sewing machines in my dream! I can't believe you have 25 to cook for sometimes. That's a lot of people.
Elaine, You can call me Linda or Froggie, or whatever you like! I will answer to about anything. My coaster pattern is different from MaryAgnes's, I will create some instructions and post them for you, then you will have a couple to choose from.
MaryAgnes, I will jump into my big Chevrolet that I got from Dinah Shore, and come see the USA and all my quilting friends. Now I have that song stuck in my head, thanks for that.
Wow, Dee, you can be my sister. I'm sure that everyone here wants to adopt you, too. We are all sisters, especially since we can meet at the Hen House anytime we like! In or minds, that is!
Hoppy quilting!

Yes Anne, you are right. I told some of you already that I am the last of my original family left since I lost my mom 2 years ago next month. I had always wanted a sister, but only had 1 brother and he is deceased. Now I have decided to adopt all of you as sisters who are willing to be that. It is great to come here and have someone to talk with and share our lives. I guess that is what sisters do, I don't know since I don't have one but it sounds good to me. I think we all need to say a great big THANK YOU to CT for providing us this site. Come chat with me anytime - day or night! lol

Hi Dee. Yes, That would be a lot of fun to be with all of you, in person. But, I think we are doing a pretty good job right on here. I love this site,,,and can not let a day go by, that I have to check on all these wonderful friends. I think, CT has provided us with a great big room right here. We regularly share a lot of things. Love to all...Anne

Hi Everyone:
Wouldn't it be nice if we could all get together for a quilting party? I guess that would take a lot of planning, etc., etc, etc! Wonder if CT has a large room or could help facilitate such a gathering? Would you be interested in such a party? Of course, we would have to do a lot of eating too, right? Everyone bring recipes and snacks, or whatever.

Mary Agnes - You are showing your age with that Dinah Shore commercial. When I was a kid, we used to watch her show all the time. That and Ed Sullivan. Daddy wouldn't miss them.

And yes the cake was yummy, but of course now they don't have the lemon coolers, which were used for the crust.

Well the sun is out today, but somehow there are still some snow flurries out there. It is not as cold as it was and they say that it is getting warmer. I guess after the single digits and teens, it's alsmost a heat wave. Check with all of you later today. Kit

Kit: Cheese cake with Girl Scout cookies. Now there's a taste treat I'd like to try.

No need for a coaster pattern. cut 4 1/2 inch squares. sew them right sides together with a piece of batting (I used flannel). leave a space. Turn them right side out. Topstitch a smidge from the edge. That's it. Also works with a hexagon. I have trouble keeping round ones perfectly round but a CD makes a good template for cutting out rounds.

ranchmom: You got me. This old women's libber hates it when she makes assumptions based on old stereotypes. We almost had a woman president; why shouldn't women be cowpersons.

Froggie: Let me know when you're planning your trip and I'll join you in seeing the country. Remember Dinah Shore: "See the U.S.A. in your Chevrolet. America is asking you to call."

Good Evening, Marguerite. I just came in, to see what's going on...Please tell your DGD I make a regular cut out sugar cookie...just change the flavoring to 1 tsp. Lemon....and 1/4 tsp. vanilla. The cookie dough should be put in the fridge for at least an hour...cut thick for a soft cake like cookie, and thin, for a crispy one. TN...I was down there years ago. DS1 was born there. April 1, 1957. Fond Memories...Anne
