Anne, We have to get our DH's together! Mine reads hardback books and keeps them. He has made a room into a library and 2 walls are covered with bookcases full of books he has read. Plus he has books in his office that need a bookcase. He has some books that are leather with gilded edges on the pages, and he loaned his Lincoln book to DGS1. WOW. Those books are almost under lock and key. But DGS1 knows how to take care of things, so he has it on the closet shelf so it doesn't get chewed on by dogs or some other catastrophe!
I am going to put some of those quilter's books on my Christmas list. I like the idea of Mini Kits, yeah, great idea, we should be the guinnea pigs for trying out the kits! Then we can find mistakes in the directions. Like Mari makes mistakes like that!
I finally finished a friendship quilt, check out my page. Plus there's a pic of the whole disfunctional family, and a pic of my grandson's cross stitch Christmas ornaments. They each get an ornament every year.
I gotta go find some food,I am hungry. I wish there was some turkey in the fridge!
Hoppy quilting!

Love you ladies. I had a fabulous first night home.
Might try to do some hand sewing today. I am anxious to start some of the gifts you ladies have made.Maybe today I can start choosing fabric. I don't know about you but that can take me half a day sometimes.
We are covered in snow. It truly looks like a Winter Wonderland.

Nanny Gale, ask Mari again....I would love to see some of these idea projects made into Packets...even the smaller ones...enough supplies to make a couple of them. The Kits would even be great to give away as gifts to a friend or family member, that like to quilt or sew. After this group tries the project out, and you get enough "Oh's and Ah's" out of us, set up a neat little kit, and put it on sale. Call them "Mini Kits".Oh, that's enough from Anne...Maybe, I should go into my sewing room, and stay out of trouble...or maybe, get into trouble. Have a great day everyone. Will be checking up on all of you...Stay well. Anne

WOW! is all I can say about the end of the story. "The Lover's Knot" I enjoyed it very much. Now I will go right into the next one...."A Drunkard's Path". Hi Francine, You are so right...That is a good recipe for an ice pack. The alcohol, doesn't freeze into a solid block, It's like a bag of SLUSH. and it can form around the area that you want to apply it to. When you're finished with it...just put it back into the freezer, until you need it again. My son used it on his leg and hip after his accident. He still has a steel rod in his hip and upper leg..after 20 years. Diane it's a slow process, but, hang in there...we're thinking about you. Anne

Hi everyone - 1st - oh my gosh Diane - ouch - no wonder you were in pain - same happened with my friend's son - but it was the spine - they had put a metal piece and it moved before he left the hospital ended up going back to fix it but after much pain..... are you going to be a bionic woman with all that replacement ... take care -
MaryAgnes - my MIL used to write all those small and ''big'' words of kids and reread them when they were older... - I would not have be able to continue myself.... - they say something in french that goes... that the truth always comes from the kids ... or they speak the truth I should maybe translate..... OK not always true but for something like that yes.....
OK still waiting for Mari to give me the OK to post a pattern a make with a cushion -
might not be here as often as I want... my sitter told me Thursday night that she was not coming back.... so have to find another one - cause have to work and .... well of course quilt....
see you girls - ah almost forgot - will post it on the main page too - a recipe in case you need it - not a kind I wish you to need but - it is good
1 cup of rubbing alcohol and 3 cups of water that you put in a zip lock bag and then into another one ( for safety) and you freeze that it makes like a slush that you can use when you need ice on a injury - a bottle usually makes two bags so you can wrap it around - it has been very good with my sons sport's injury so far ....

take care everyone

Hi Froggie...Your DH is a keeper Like Mine..Keep plenty of Klondike Bars, or Chocolate Covers in the freezer..We have to keep them happy, too. My DH is a book collector. Books thru-out the home...So he can't complain about my fabric Stash. Hey kids - I'm going to go read my new book...That Dh got for me. "" The Lover's Knot" by Clare O'Donohue. A someday quilts mystery. 3/4 of the way thru it. Have to finish it...I'm enjoying it. Talk Later Anne

Well, I am doing better now. I got one of my machines to work. I finished quilting a quilt I have been making on and off since about March. Now just the binding is left. The other two machines are sitting by the door, when I decide what I will say when I take them to the shop, I will take them in. I stuffed my pillow with poly fil, Nanny Gayle. As I was finishing it, I was thinking it would have been nice to line it with batting, then fill with polyfil. I need to make another one that's less full, so it's more squishy, and DD1 has asked for one. So, I will let you know how they turn out.
Shopping the day after Thanksgiving, ugh. I think I did it once, and it was not even fun. Not at all.
MaryAgnes, Orphan gathering, I like that. Just lots of friends. Where did they all sit? In the smallest apartment in NYC? lol. I was thinking, the amount I spent on the three machines, I could have one nice Bernina. I haven't ever heard a bad thing about Bernina's. But then, again, I hadn't heard anything bad about Baby Lock until mine started messing up!
I love french onion dip, sometimes it's a toss up between that and desserts for me.
Well, Anne, it's ok if you are spoiled. It's fun. I have lots of quilting gadgets and loads of fabric, and DH never says a thing. He just buys me more when I put it on my Christmas list. How sweet of Gus, what a sweet baby. They are the best. I would have lost it too.
DH is hollering for ice cream. Klondike bars with heath bar in it. Yum. Oh yeah, he is spoiled, too.
Gotta run!
Hoppy quilting!
