Well Froggie, it sounds like you are going to have a fun day. My DGD1 held a sleep over here last night for her 13th birthday. They swam, roasted hot dogs, ate s'mores, and then stayed up gabbing most of the night. Today, we are going to watch 2 of the Twilight movies here and then go to the movies to watch the new one. My DGD2 was so upset that she couldn't stay, too. She had even brought her clothes and unpacked them and put them in the closet. We had to promise her a day just for her. She's 5. The girls are still sleeping and Daisy, my dog, is whimpering because I won't let her go down there with the girls. And of course, they took over the sewing room, so I can't sew. Guess I'll have to play on the computer instead and sew tomorrow. Have a good day, everyone. Kit

Froggie: Bet you're talking about the escalators in the Metro stations. Have you been in the tube in London, talking about steep escalators? Just be glad you're a traveler, not a commuter. Have fun today.

Thanks for the info, everyone. I have a lot of thinking to do now, to decide if I even want to do it.
Linda, my DGS has a little skit he performs sometimes, he is making fun of me, since i am so old, OH MY HIP! then he grabs a hip. Then he says- OH MY OTHER HIP! Then he grabs the other hip and groans, and falls on the floor. He is too funny.
There are some escelators in DC that I won't go on. They are very long, and very very steep. Gives me the creaps, and it takes so long, I really hate them. So I use the handicapped little elevator. Then I found out that they break down a lot. What is a traveler to do?
I am off for a fun day with DGS1, DD2, and a friend of DGS. DGS turned 13 today, man I am feeling old. I better get hoppin, DD is making breakfast, and I am hungry!

Froggie, love the picture of your Auntie. I so envy her. I would love to skydive. I always envy the girls roller blading down the street too. I wanted to roller blade a few years ago and my DH is terrified I will break a hip and of course, if I did then, I would never hear the end of it. So I said if I was ever terminally ill, I was going to skydive and roller blade. So that is the signal to all my friends that the end is coming. Not funny but funny!!

About the price to charge for teaching. Put a limit on your group. I am taking a quilting course in the fall for a table runner that I just love the look of. You need a special ruler so the girl is charging $55. and that includes the $20 ruler but we supply our own material etc. It is from 9 - 4 I think on a Sat. The charges for a quilt here is double the material. There is a baby quilt at the quilt shop and it is $140. They said that the material was $70 so they are charging $140. if you want to buy it pre-made. Of course your material here as well runs approx. $16 - $18 per metre. I don't buy much here and order most of my material online. Just a little information at this end of the world (ha).
By the way if I ever got stuck in an elevator, they would be taking me out in a straight jacket I am sure (ha). I used to have a real problem with escalators too but given a choice between elevator and escalator, I will take the escalator. If it is really high, I let my DH go on ahead of me so I cannot see down. All these things are scary for people who are afraid of heights and also claustrophobic. I don't know if that is spelled correctly but you know what I mean.

We never get tired of all those darling baby things! When I get into work tomorrow I'll try to gather all the projects into a discussion or perhaps create a discussion for each book and put the projects in according to book. I'll let you know tomorrow Joy! Thanks for letting me know.

YES! Diane ~ I need that sign!!!

No Joy it's not just you! I saw the booties and thought they were darling but somehow missed the fact that they were a gift project...

Froggie - I just saw an article in the quiltposium on line magazine. Their formula was to add up all the supplies, add $25 for gas, travel time, machine wear and tear, etc and then at least twice the local minimum wage per hour.
