I am joining your group at the last minute gift ideas for Christmas. Yesterday was Halloween and today all the stores are decorated for Christmas. I guess Thanksgiving is the "black sheep" of the holidays family.

Diane, so very good to hear from you! What a terrible thing to happen - you shouldn't do that anymore. I am praying for a quick recovery. Take it easy and LISTEN to the doctors.

Hi Ladies they have given me a day pass! I slipped on snow dislocated my L. hip and somehow fracttured my pelvis by pushing it in and not out!. Therefore had to be sent to Edmonton where there was a Dr. that was willing ti try and repair it. So I now have a bone graft. 3plates and a few screws holding it in place. i can not put any weight on it for 8 weeks the nI am looking at extensive therapy.i am on a lot of happy drugs though!!!!
They are undecided as to whether to keep me in the hospital for the 8 weeks or to let me heal at home. I of couse would like to be a home/
Anyway my wacky drugs are kicking in so I must say good bye.
Love and miss you all. Diane

Great placemats and table runner! You were busy while I was gone.
Nanny Gayle,
I love the chickens, they are so cute. My Sis made one for me, they crack me up. Maybe they can go in the hen house!
Yuck, flu. My DD and Grandson both have it, glad I haven't been around them for a week. I am glad you are almost back to 'normal' now.
I had a great week at the Des Moines quilt show. I met some friends from another group on this site, it was so much fun meeting friends that you have never actually seen in person! My SIL went with me, we went to the show for two days, bought tons of stuff, and saw gorgeous quilts. The third day, we went to a sale that Landauer publishing/Fons and Porter was having and got some real deals on books and fabric. We went to a local quilt shop, it was cute, an old house, really quaint. We found a local winery, tasted wines, and bought some. Really good wine. Then we went to the Fons and Porter shop, it was Oct 30, and they were having their local yearly Halloween. All the shops buy candy, and kids from all over come to trick or treat. The City Hall that was built in 1880 and is GORGEOUS played spooky music. It was fun to see. Marianne Fons was at the shop, and I bought a book for my Sis and had it signed, and two books for me. Then we went and found two of the covered bridges of Madison County. That was fun, too. Yesterday we drove back, 8 hours. Now I am TIRED. It was so much fun. Now it's time to get back to making gifts!
Hoppy quilting!

Cheryl, your runner and placemat is a perfect and quick to make gift. Who doesn't love something handmade? This looks like it would work up very quickly and with a choice of fabric as lovely as yours, it can look very high end. Good work!

Great placemats, perfect for a great gift. I love these ideas,I am always looking for something for buyers to make their new home special. Handmade items go over big!! When I start working with a buyer I listen to their likes and dislikes, if I make them a gift I try to make it reflect them The placemats and table runner are perfect for this. I just had a couple that really love rustic settings. They almost puchased a log cabin. I think I will make this set and applique some pine trees and cones. The large areas would be great for that. The leftover fabric from the forest friends that I just purchased should be great for that.
So many ideas, so little time!! Thanks for sharing.
