Well, I wonder if I can un-give myself a gift, so I can give it to someone else. I am such a goof. That's funny that you set off the sensors walking. Sometimes they make ya jump and wonder-'What was that???'

Where's Betty? I hope everything is OK.

Hoppy quilting!

Just checked out Give a Gift. Seems like you're supposed to give a gift to someone else. Are these virtual gifts? Like on those games children play on the computer? Or real gifts such as something arriving in the mail? Not interested in icons posing as gifts, thank you very much. My idea of a gift would be flowers, chocolates, fabric, etc.

Froggie: Those motion sensors are weird. Puppy and I set off several when we walk after dark, or before light.

MaryAgnes,
That is hilarious! I bet the buses and drivers looked very groovy, just like crazy Ralph! Makes me feel very old indeed to admit that I know who Ralph Cramden was. Oh well, I have grandsons. Makes up for the rest. Where is everyone, anyway? I wanted to ask about this new give a gift thing on my page. I gave myself a gift. How goofy of me. I had 100 credits, and now have 25. What is that about? Do we have fakey money now? All the lights just turned off in my office, I don't like this. Oh, they are motion activated. They are on since I just moved. LOL.
I hope everyone comes back later so I can find out what everyone is doing today. I have to finish unpacking my boxes. Ugh.
Hoppy quilting!

Froggie: Would you believe this--Around Christmas last year the MTA sent out old buses that had been restored (driven by bus drivers in old bus driver uniforms (very Ralph Cramden)). Well, one day a young woman with her daughter wanted to get off, but she didn't know to pull the cord!!! She got up and rang the bell on the back door (that didn't exist years ago), I guess because it was want she recognized. Made me feel very very old indeed.

Barbara, your second Halloween banner is very cool! I love Halloween projects.
How funny, Roseann, What does Why mean? Kids crack me up.
MaryAgnes, we sure did miss you. It sounds like you had a good time on the cruise, even though it was longer than you thought. Don't cruise ships have those cords like on buses when you want to get off? Just pull it, and he stops the ship? Sorry, I know I am warped.
Howdy, Jeanne, welcome to the group! Just ask when you need help, we are very helpful here.
Ranchmom, I didn't know that the hen house had a penthouse either! Why don't I live there? Oh well, I really like it down here with the chickens and all the hustle and bustle. Hey Roseann, ask your GDs what that means. See what they come up with.
Oh yeah, Barbara, I almost forgot. I have so much fabric, I was looking at the scrap tote and thought, this is nuts! Plus I gave away some fabric a couple of Saturdays ago, the quilt shop had a sale, if you bring in unwanted fabric, you got 20% off your order, and the fabric went to groups that make quilts for preemies, etc. I know it doesn't make sense to a quilter to get rid of fabric, but sometimes you look at a piece, and wonder what you would ever do with it. So some of my fabric went to new homes.
I haven't gotten much quilting done in the last week, with DGS coming for the weekend, we just cleaned in the room. I really need to get my Steam-A-Seam so I can finish DS's flip flop quilt. I ordered some from the B Sew Inn, but haven't heard, and also ordered some from CT. I bet the CT order gets here first!
Gotta run, I guess I should do some work.
Hoppy quilting!

Welcome Jeanne! Nanny Gayle is right. Just click on each discussion forum above and it will open a window of pictures of gifts you can make from the books listed above. Just ask questions as many know how to navigate around all the options! We'll all help you.

Mary Agnes! Good to have you back! I have really missed you! YES! We can take care of our Diane!!! In fact, while in recovery, she can have the penthouse. Wish that vacation was better! Yikes! Well, you have lots of hex's done! Thats good.

I broke my ankle in much the same way you did. Stepped onto an uneven stepping stone wrong and wa-lah, broken ankle. That was 12 years ago and now have arthritis in it. Arrrrrgh!

Nanny Gayle ~ Thanks for helping Jeanne! I love that about quilters! Just super good people! Hope you post some pics of your "Hold Alls".

Hi Jeanne, I am Gayle and glad to have another new person on board. I guess if you look at the top of the page and see if there is anything there that you want to make for a gift, and then see which book it come from so you can order it(either from CT or some other provider) so you can jump on the band wagon and start making gifts. I bought the Cider Mill book since my DD collects apple things for her kitchen. I have made placemats and hotpads and now I am going to make a hand full of the apple pin cushions to use in a basket on her table. If I have time I would like to make her a table runner(all of these are in that book). I am hoping to make a few of the "Hold Alls" from the "Pretty Little Presents" book. Then when I get past Christmas, I have picked out some other things to make for birthdays and whenevers. They are some pics here so you can see what some of the things look like before buying the books.
