Anne, I'm with Barbara, paper piecing drives me crazy. I take those projects with great trepidation! I am very pleased with the results though. ALL the blocks are perfect and I love that!

Froggie, that pin cushion is very easy, especially out of wool! I enjoyed every minute of making it! Believe me!

Barbara, it sounds like you're making pillowcases???? Hummmm..... that is so fun!

Anne, thanks for the compliment. I agree that Froggie should take her time. Paper piecing makes everything so perfect once you get the hang of it and it really is easy. I made a mess the first time I tried it and wouldn't attempt it again for several years. When I did, I guess I was better at the whole quilting thing and it made more sense. Now it is one of my favorite ways to do things.

Right now, while I am waiting for my order from CT, I am making a table runner out of "Root of the Madder" fabrics that I bought from CT when they were on sale. I am using a technique I haven't tried before, the tube technique. I watched a video and it looked so easy to do. I wish I could come up with a new technique that would set the quilting world on it's ear. Oh well, I will just have to be happy that others dream up ways for people like me to make more quilts and make them faster! This tube thing really works up quickly. I think I am going to like it. Have a good night everyone.

Oh Mari, like I just said on Sip of Summer, no quilting for me today! I can't wait to make that pin cushion! The grandsons are coming over tomorrow evening until Sunday evening, so I might not even get to work on it this weekend. Maybe I could sneak away and work on the pin cushion.
Anne, I do love the pears. I am using one made of wool for a pin cushion! Actually, quilting safety pin. I will work on the paper piecing, too, slowly, like you said. I will let you know when I am going to attempt it again, so you can cheer me on. I love that CT thread! My machine loves it.

Hoppy quilting!

Hello Barbara Gibbons...Your quilt is great..the colors are wonderful. I think you are the new Cookie Queen! LOL.
Froggie...Take your time with Paper Piecing...They do come out really nice. Try, try, again. That's what got me started in Crazy Quilting!
I sat here, this afternoon...and ordered from CT...Threads, and some of the sale fabrics. I got some to make a few more pears for next Christmas. If you haven't made a couple...everyone, should try it. They seem complicated at first...but are very easy, and the end results are great. I'm telling ya, try it, you'll like it. Have a happy St. Patrick's Day. Anne

How fun, Barbara! Green shamrock cookies. I bet the kids loved them.
Yes, Mari, you need to join TA with us. I can't wait to see the gifty goodie that Karen made. I still need to make my pin cushion.
Hoppy quilting!

Ohhh! TA is a great idea! Especially if we are there with fellow quilters. I made green shamrock cookies for the grandkids and dusted them with green sugar. It was my pay back to my son, too much sugar for the kids and then I get to go home! Seriously though, they love it when I bring them cookies for what ever holiday it is but they like it better when they get to help make them. This time, I just wanted it done so they could be surprised.
Today, I have to figure out what unfinished project I should work on while I am waiting for my latest CT order to get here. I sure wish it would hurry up! Have a fun day everyone.

I really have to try some paper piecing again. There is a lesson in a magazine I received recently, I think Fons and Porter. I tried it once, and really made a mess. Took me hours to do one block and it was too small. I think it will turn into a coaster when I am not mad at it anymore! I love bags and totes, too, Barbara. DH has threatened to send me to TA - Totes Annonymous. Wanna go with me?
Have fun with the kiddies! Give them too much sugar!
Hoppy quilting!

Thanks everyone! I so enjoyed making that quilt. I made it from fat quarters that I have hoarded for years because I knew I wanted to do something special with them. The last couple of projects for me have been paper piecing and I thought that the fat quarters would work perfectly for that. I am really trying to master different techniques and that is why the paper piecing projects. Next I am moving on to totes and bags for gifts. I love hand made totes and bags as long as they look professional and there are a ton of examples right here that you ladies have posted of beautiful work so I aspire to be as good as some of those. Have a great day everyone, I am off to my son's to sit with the kiddies after school.
