Good afternoon all! Mari, I am glad to see that you are back and on the mend. Hopefully you will be well through the holidays now.
As for me, I finished the baby quilt that I was working on. It is based on a 'thangles' pattern but I used different fabric and a different border. The back is a 'satin look' cotton fabric in a tiny butter yellow gingham check. Hope you all like it. It is the first time I have ever made anything with thangles and I think I will use them again for Christmas placemats and quick projects. They really make nice edges.
You will have to go to my photo album to see it since I don't seem to be able to figure out how to upload it directly to this page. Could someone help me with that?
Have a great afternoon everybody!

You have enemies? I don't believe that!

Yep, I know the flu info on the CDC web site by heart! I had all the symptoms of the H1N1. Didn't get tested for it. It was awful and I can say I'm REALLY glad its over. Usually I can get a little something done while sick but not this time. Still coughing. Hope that's it for the season! Holy cow! Wouldn't wish that on my worst enemy!!!!

Mari: That's for the heads up! Forewarned is forearmed, as they say.

And I am thrilled you are not back to normal. W.C. Fields wouldn't trust anyone who didn't drink, and I wouldn't trust anyone claiming to be normal. I am, however, happy to hear you are feeling better. Nasty, nasty flu season. Don't sick people know to stay home and keep the germs to themselves?

My Stitchin' Group met on Tuesday and I didn't work on any Christmas projects, but I did get a hem sewn on a dress I bought two years ago. I still think of hems as hand sewing projects, even though I know it would be faster on the machine. I find hems very relaxing--once I finally get to doing them. Just wanted you all to know I finished a UFO!!!

Good Morning Everyone! Just wanted to apologize for being so "absent". I had the flu all last week so I've been trying to catch up this week. I'm not totally back to "normal" (whatever that is!!!) but I am doing much, much better! So, y'all better look out!!!!!

It's ladies shaped like fruit, or fruit shaped like ladies? I will have to google it for you. In the meantime, check out my page, you will see a quilt with the ladies. Oh, here ya go, they have it at Keepsake quilting: http://www.keepsakequilting.com/productdetail/9291.htm
It's too funny. Sorry Mari for advertising for the competition.
I got my books and kit from CT this weekend. WOOHOO. I saw this week's project, and thought it was very groovy. Mari, does the rice last? I wonder if it molds or gets fat and weird or anything. My friend Karen at work would like this with the lavendar in it.
Well, Howdy, Kathy, welcome to the site! I love your jacket and bag, they are very groovy.
OK, everything is groovy today, SIL and I are headin' off in the morning to Des Moines for the quilt show. We are sooooo excited. I wish all of you were coming with us. We are going to meet up with some friends from another group, I am excited! WOOHOO. Can you stand it? I can't. OK, I have a thousand things to do, and I haven't even started packing. I always pack at the last minute. Plus I am still washing clothes. I better go finish that and pack. Ugh.
Talk to ya in a week. Don't have any fun without me.

Hoppy quilting!

Good Morning Everyone! Well, its time for another goodie! These little pillows are called Relaxation Therapy and are from the book Pretty Little Presents.
Judy made them and here is what she had to say about them.....

I filled one of my bags with rice as the book suggests and it can be microwaved or frozen. They are on the small side too. If you wanted you could make it larger. I filled one of them with dried lavendar from Mari's garden instead of rice so it can use it as a sachet (I wouldn't microwave the sachet). I thought it would be nice to give one of each as a gift.
