Didn't we used to be able to link to the books above in the month lists? Or is something wrong with my computer?

Diane, I think you worked an assembly line in a previous life!!

"Hot Digity Dog" method = all cuts are WOF - cut one strip (cuff) 10 inches wide, cut one strip (insert) 1 3/4 inches wide, cut one strip (body of pillow case) whatever length you want - I made mine 28 inches wide. Unfold and lay the cuff down, right side up, press insert together along length, wrong sides facing and lay onto cuff, cut edges meeting - pin in place - lay body of pillowcase, right side down and meet cut edges, repin in place. Grap end of pillow case body and roll toward pinned edges, stopping just short of edge. At this pont, pull cuff up to cut edge, repin , making sure to not catch the body of the pillow case - Hot digity dog!! Then sew 1/4 inch along the length - pull body of pillowcase out of tube and press. At this point I fold the case, wrong sides toether, trim off the selvages (width is approx 21-22 inches depending on width of fabric) and sew a scant 1/4 inch - turn wrong side out and press and stitch 3/8 to 5/16th, encasing the sewed seam creating a french seam. I do the same with the bottom edge. You could leave out the contrasting insert, or use piping or lace - either way, they finish quite nicely and make beautiful gifts with not a lot of time or effort!!

Ok, Barb D in Maine; I'll bite. What is the "Hot Digity Dog" method? I love your pillow cases.

Barb, pillow cases make great gifts. I made some a few years ago for all my grandchildren and appliqued their names in large block letters on the cuff and they loved them.

I know these are not on the "gifty projects" list, so I hope I'm not breaking any rules!! These sets of pillowcases, made with the "Hot Digity Dog" method are Chirstmas gifts - more items I can scratch off the list!! Some are made with Christmas fabrics, others are not! I still have several more sets to make to go around!!

Will they be MY Christmas present, Mari? I'd like a set of 8.

Oh, Diane, the line drawing is a great idea. I would do the same thing because I need the straight lines. I just can't bring myself to "eyeball" it and take a chance the lines won't be perfect. Although, I love Christinas version because the freehand lines are interesting and unique. I may have to reconsider those drawn lines. Look what I did, I talked myself into it!!!! Geeze!

Diane, I love those, can I please be on your Christmas list? I guess I can make my own but yours are so nice!!!!

Yep I am foolish enough to be making 30! I will do the different designs in the book and of course some from the 'I Believe' book. Yes these are the mugs from the Dollar Store. I love them as they are just a little fancier than an ordinary mug.
For the Trivet I cheated as I am a little anal and drew llines with a ruler every 1/4" from top to bottom and the lines are exactly 1/2" apart. I just couldn't do it free hand!
I love these little projects!!!!
