I am a long time member of "Quilting With Us" (QWU). I used to give virtual workshops here. Like many others, I have ventured out as QWU became more quiet.

We are getting the warning that QWU is at risk of being disabled. I fear this is a sign that QWU will one day be no more.

It has become like family here and the thought of losing the friendships we have developed has giving me a sad heart. Like many dark clouds, there is a silver lining. When I ventured out, I created a quilters social network, much like QWU. I never mentioned it, for it was a conflict of interest. However, in this dark hour, it is time to let others know there is an alternative. It does not have to end here.

I would be honored for QWU members to join "Pattern Pastiche". If needed, we are more than happy to create a group for your new home.

Hey Anita., I was also a friend of Linda’s.. She mentioned you to me a few times and how she enjoyed her visit with you and your husband when you were there.

Oh I just read these comments.  Sharon Reeves, I just sent you a private message, and then I saw this.  I am truly saddened to hear of Linda's passing.  We were in contact over the years.  She and her wonderful husband hosted me and my hubby when we were driving through to AL a view years ago.  I know she is at rest with her dear Lord in heaven.  Yes, she was a wonderful wonderful person!!!!

So sorry to hear about Linda. I didn't post any pictures, but kept in contact with her for a long time and loved to hear about the ones she met. She was a wonderful person.

I know there has not been much activity in this group for quite some time, but hopefully a few of you are still following.  I wanted to let everyone know that Linda Robertson, who stared the Hearts and Faces Connect group, passed away on Friday June 28.  I had the pleasure of meeting Linda when we visited TN several years ago.  She was a sweet dear lady.  Please keep her husband Dale and the rest of her family in your thoughts and prayers.

Has anyone heard an update on Linda Robertson?  I saw her post on facebook yesterday - that she had fallen and broken her elbow in 3 places.  She was expecting to have surgery today.  Please keep her in your prayers.

Happy fall to everyone. In my corner of the NW, our fall colors are slower this year. I love all the blended colors. We have been traveling in our MH, (Motorhome), more this summer that usual. We go to see relatives for birthday parties, graduations from Nursing school and to see my sister in Coeur d'Alene, ID, who is visiting from Texas. I've made several laptops for the girls graduation, baby quilts and another laptop. Winterizing the MH is sad, but in 4 months, we'll be getting it ready for our annual trip to AZ for about 3 months or so. We've had rain for several days and in between, 2 sunny days. Retired Live is Great. So far, no plans of moving to a smaller home, and we've talked about it, but just don't know where we want to move to. Later gals, and have a Great Fall.

Oh Kathy, happy fall to you too.  It is so good to read your post and catch up a little.  I too have been busy....sewing a little, exhibiting at our little county fair, substituting at our local school district - mostly as an aide with the kids with special needs, but sometimes as school secretary or bus monitor.  Next week Jim and I with another couple will be spending the week in Washington D.C.  They are dear friends and every couple years we pick a city and go do the whole "tourist thing".  We've been to New York and Chicago among others but we haven't been to our nation's capitol in 10 years or so.  We have tours scheduled at the capitol, the White House, the Bureau of Engraving where we will be able to see them print paper money (hope they are giving out samples); we will have a nighttime dinner cruise on the Potomac, a "monuments by moonlight" trolley ride, and will tour and see the play "Driving Miss Daisy" at the Ford theater.  Somewhere we want to squeeze in the zoo, National Cathedral, a couple of the Smithsonian buildings, and watch the changing of the guard at Arlington.  Should be a full week.  In late October a bunch of the OH quilters are getting together for the day in Amish Country.  Looks like there will be about 16 of us.  I'll be sure to take pictures and post them here.  What's everyone else up to?
