“DIRTY DOZEN” CHALLENGE
This year we are going to focus on TWELVE unfinished projects! Our goal is to get these twelve projects completed and off our UFO list! All you need to do is draw up a list of twelve of your unfinished projects. It can be something as minimal as making a label, sewing the binding on a quilt, or sewing up a BOM block. Maybe you have a quilt top waiting to be machine quilted. Perhaps you have a table runner that is cut out and just waiting to be sewn up! Do you have a stack of quilt patterns that need to be organized? Do you have a box full of scraps that need to be cut down into useable squares or strips? Look on your shelves, in your closets, in your tubs, in your bags, or wherever you hide your UFOs and find those twelve projects you plan to complete this year! Number each of these twelve projects because there’s a TWIST to this year’s challenge. On the first of every month, I will draw a number. The number I draw is the same numbered UFO project you will work on and complete for that month! For instance if I draw out number 4, you need to check what project is listed as your fourth UFO and work on that project for that month. This should be a novel (and fun) way to get some of our pesky UFOs completed!
If you wish to participate, all you need to do is list your twelve UFOs! (HELPFUL HINT: select projects that you can actually complete in a month!)
I will cross out your numbered projects as you get them completed. Please share photos of your UFOs as you complete them. Prizes will be awarded to all who complete their TWELVE UFOs in their designated months! (This challenge discourages you from getting back-logged. Trying to ''make up lost time" by getting 2-3 UFOs done in one month is STRESSFUL and that's not how this challenge works! There's less stress if you follow our challenge: getting ONE project done in the month it is to be completed!)

This sounds like a great incentive to get those UFO's done. But unfortunately, or maybe fortunately, I don't have 12 UFO's started. I can think of 3 but nowhere near 12 - guess I'm too obsessive to have that many things started. So I won't join this time but I'm sure gonna watch; I think this will be lots of fun.
I'm in. I have almost that many tops waiting to be quilted but will find some other quick to do projects to mix in with them. Can you tell me what number you plan to draw in Jan? Lol I have a week or two of quilting to do on DD's quilt yet so hope I end up with an easy one for the month!
I am in! Having just started to organize the "fabric Crypt" I have an idea of how many UFOs that I have and it is more than 12! I will list them all tomorrow, need to get to bed now! Thanks for hosting this challenge
Im thinking about it, not sure I have 12 items either.
Well, I probably have enough items to help everyone out!! I'll have to sort through and see which ones to list. But it will probably just be a list until I move my 'stuff' to the new sewing room. No date in sight yet :o(.
I'm in and I am in the same situation that Jackie is, I could probably give some of mine to any takers! I know I have some syndrome but not sure of the name! This sounds like a lot of fun and will get started on my list.
I guess I'm in too even though I finished up most of my ufos during our last ufo challenge.
I still have some tips to be quilted,,, gee, how does that happen?
I assume projects that we are currently actively working on are not to be included..IE ...pat and I are doing a mystery quilt which we just got our 5th clue for.
I was going to ask another question but when I thought of the 244 split triangle units waiting to be completed for this clue all other thoughts vanished. PAT are you keeping pace?
Uhh,no Diane,I am NOT keeping pace and I am only doing half of the small quilt! I will be finished with the first clue this afternoon-I was sewing them as leaders and enders with my Christmas sewing,I have about 20% of the chevrons done and the HSTs done, but not the pinwheels and just starting on clues 4 and 5,LOL
I am going to have to sit this one out, it sounds like a lot of fun, but I do not have 12 things in progress right now. I'll check in to see all the great work though! Thanks for coordinating another challenge, Marcia!
Except for Iowa Comfort quilts ( I have 30 of those ready to quilt and bind) I also do not have 12 UFO's to finish. Actually I only have two that are not still in baskets waiting to start. So I guess I will have to sit back and watch also this time.
Deb,I don't see any rule against doing charity quilts and I think PIGS count as UFOs! You can surely play...
I agree w/Pat! Charity quilts would certainly count as UFOs! Also- if you have any kits that are not started...those are UFOs! If you bought a particular fabric to be sew up into a project but you haven't started it yet- now is the time! My middle name is FLEXIBLE and I am very accommodating on this challenge, Deb!
