“DIRTY DOZEN” CHALLENGE
This year we are going to focus on TWELVE unfinished projects! Our goal is to get these twelve projects completed and off our UFO list! All you need to do is draw up a list of twelve of your unfinished projects. It can be something as minimal as making a label, sewing the binding on a quilt, or sewing up a BOM block. Maybe you have a quilt top waiting to be machine quilted. Perhaps you have a table runner that is cut out and just waiting to be sewn up! Do you have a stack of quilt patterns that need to be organized? Do you have a box full of scraps that need to be cut down into useable squares or strips? Look on your shelves, in your closets, in your tubs, in your bags, or wherever you hide your UFOs and find those twelve projects you plan to complete this year! Number each of these twelve projects because there’s a TWIST to this year’s challenge. On the first of every month, I will draw a number. The number I draw is the same numbered UFO project you will work on and complete for that month! For instance if I draw out number 4, you need to check what project is listed as your fourth UFO and work on that project for that month. This should be a novel (and fun) way to get some of our pesky UFOs completed!
If you wish to participate, all you need to do is list your twelve UFOs! (HELPFUL HINT: select projects that you can actually complete in a month!)
I will cross out your numbered projects as you get them completed. Please share photos of your UFOs as you complete them. Prizes will be awarded to all who complete their TWELVE UFOs in their designated months! (This challenge discourages you from getting back-logged. Trying to ''make up lost time" by getting 2-3 UFOs done in one month is STRESSFUL and that's not how this challenge works! There's less stress if you follow our challenge: getting ONE project done in the month it is to be completed!)

Well at least you started me on an easy one! I got the binding cut and sewn on this morning. Just because it is the first one and it is January and too cold to do anything else, I will even sew this one down by hand. I'm not making that promise with any of the others. In fact looking at the list there will probably only be one other one that will be done by hand.
I sure was hoping it would not be #1. Thanks #2 for me will also be easy. If I get to work on it.
Work was really cold today. Worked back in the warehouse away from Bulk fill flipping boxes. Tomorrow going to Webster City to rework boxes. It will be a long day.
DH and I are heading to Tulsa Thursday. He woke up this morning with the flu. Great. Sure hope I do not get it.
This is going to be very good for me. I am also trying to work on another project at the same time as the chosen one each month, in the hopes I can complete one that has been aging in the crypt! I have been working on an inherited project I was given 3 years ago when my sister-in-law moved. She had started some of the piecing and when I started my list, I came upon the tote with the materials and pattern and started in. I have the top all pieced and getting ready for the borders. Thanks Marcia, I just might get something accomplished this year.
Lets go Ladies!
Project # 2 complete. Don't judge this quilt on it's lack of beauty, it is leftover blocks from a class I taught after Diane and I took a workshop with Sharon Craig, don't remember how many years ago that was. The borders and binding are leftovers from other quilt projects and the backing is something from my stash. I am going to give this to Linus Project or something. It may be ugly, but it is soft and warm.
No matter the project(which is lovely by the way) I bet it feels g great to be seeing again
Sewing again, you see just fine!
I like it a whole bunch! What a great use of "leftovers". Sometimes the best surprises come when you least expect it and this is a lovely one!
Congrats Teresa on finishing #2, Its a pretty quilt even though you don't think so.
Teresa- I love scrappy quilts and your blocks look like a fun scrappy block! Wish I had taken your class! :) And now you have one less UFO! Hooray for Teresa for being the first one to get a project crossed off her "Dirty Dozen"!
I love this quilt! And can see it being used for quilts for Iowa Comfort. Did you just cut the charm's in half and sew in the 1 1/2 " strip and then square up the final square? If so do you know off the top of your head what that square measured....my head says it should be a 6 inches unfinished am I right?
