Quilt With Us

“DIRTY DOZEN” CHALLENGE

This year we are going to focus on TWELVE unfinished projects!  Our goal is to get these twelve projects completed and off our UFO list!  All you need to do is draw up a list of twelve of your unfinished projects.  It can be something as minimal as making a label, sewing the binding on a quilt, or sewing up a BOM block.  Maybe you have a quilt top waiting to be machine quilted.  Perhaps you have a table runner that is cut out and just waiting to be sewn up!  Do you have a stack of quilt patterns that need to be organized?  Do you have a box full of scraps that need to be cut down into useable squares or strips? Look on your shelves, in your closets, in your tubs, in your bags, or wherever you hide your UFOs and find those twelve projects you plan to complete this year! Number each of these twelve projects because there’s a TWIST to this year’s challenge.  On the first of every month, I will draw a number.  The number I draw is the same numbered UFO project you will work on and complete for that month!  For instance if I draw out number 4, you need to check what project is listed as your fourth UFO and work on that project for that month.  This should be a novel (and fun) way to get some of our pesky UFOs completed!

If you wish to participate, all you need to do is list your twelve UFOs!  (HELPFUL HINT: select projects that you can actually complete in a month!)

I will cross out your numbered projects as you get them completed.  Please share photos of your UFOs as you complete them.   Prizes will be awarded to all who complete their TWELVE UFOs in their designated months! (This challenge discourages you from getting back-logged.  Trying to ''make up lost time" by getting 2-3 UFOs done in one month is STRESSFUL and that's not how this challenge works!  There's less stress if you follow our challenge: getting ONE project done in the month it is to be completed!)

What a treasure!

Good Job ladies, al the projects are so pretty. I know this challenge has put me in gear to get things done. Cannot wait until next months number

#2 is finished - it's my really easy one.  I tried to get a pic of this last week but the sleeve is the same as the backing so it really didn't show up.  So the fact that it's now hanging on my wall is proof that the hanging sleeve is on. :)  I have a couple more dirty dozen items finished too.  Now if Marcia just draws numbers in the correct order so those alternate with the ones that may take longer I'll be good - lol

Great job on getting projects completed everyone.  It's amazing how comitting to a challenge gets you motivated!

Peg that is beautiful, your work is work of art, as ladies have said you just have that nac for quilting.  Hip Hip Huurah    for you Peg.

I agree Peg. If I am able to follow along with this challenge it will clear a lot of projects up and I will feel better starting the other projects that are laying around. Like  "Inner Light" by Deb Kafasik from book Quilts with Attitude from the L-7. Have all the fabric and patterns printed out just need to justify the time spent on it. Then there is also a Christmas quilt I started about 8 years ago. Have the fabric still have to make some of the patterns for the blocks. So glad you started this challenge Marcia. Thank you again.

Peg, I love that project.

Okay, ladies- I am leaving today and won't be back till Feb. 2nd; so I am going to give you a 'jump start' on February's project.  You are to work on project number.....

Have fun working on your NUMBER 5 projects!!!

BTW-I decided the first number I drew for this challenge had a 'blah' background...so now I am posing my numbers in front of a variety of my quilt projects!!  *grin*

I think you are going to leave my hard ones for months like April, May and October!

Good job Marcia - I had to double check but you managed to pick the one I started quilting earlier this week!!  Way to go.  I was going to start a different one but didn't have the batting I wanted for it.  This one may take a while so I'm glad to have a head start.

Boy   I should of known Marcia leaves no dirt under her nails. LOL   She checked in on us before she went.  Just got to love her.  Thanks Marcia  Have a good time.

Good job on the projects ladies.  Thanks for giving our number before you leave on your trip, Marcia.  Hope you enjoy the sun and warmer weather.  We are all envious!!
