What this group is about

I don’t know about you, but I have too many things started. Join me in my quest to get finish what I’ve started. The deal is, for every 2 projects I finish, I get to reward myself by starting something new. You can make your own rules, or give the group ideas for new rules as we go. I think it’ll be fun to ask this group for advice on what project to wrap up next, show my progress with photo’s, get motivation from each other when I want to break my own agreement (trust me, I am weak willed when it comes to new projects).

1. No purchase necessary
2. Timeframe: this is an ongoing group with no defined end time.
3. If you are not a member of our Quilt with Us Community yet, click the "Signup and Join" box in the upper-right corner. Once you're a member, you will see a green plus sign and a link to "Join Karen's UFO Quilt Along" in the upper-right of the group page. Clicking on the link will allow you to join this Quilt Along.
4. Post questions, project feedback, and pictures of your progress.

TUFO - means Tuesday UFO - those of us interested try to make a small dent in whatever UFO we are working on. Tuesday is simply the day the Connecting Threads gals get together to sew and craft...you can make it any day you like, but we got a kick out of the title. Once in awhile we can't make it on Tuesday so we move it to Wednesday - yup WUFO. Report here what you are planning to work on, then the next day, let us all know how you did. Nothing is required, it's just for fun.

I just joined the quilting community and now I've found the perfect group. I'm not sure how many UFO's I currently have...I work full time at a very demanding job so my problem is finding the time (and sometimes the creative energy) to work on them. Then, of course, I'm like many others with something new always catching my eye. Hopefully this group will inspire me to get moving.

I've already introduced myself to the group, but I forgot to mention that I DID FINISH three UFO's during the months of September through the first of December (which is really good for me!) and have posted pictures of them here on my profile page. Now I just have to stick with working on the rest of them (one at a time of course) and not purchase any more fabric, kits, etc., All I'm going to be getting until they are finished is backing fabric, batting, and threads. At least that's my plan. Happy New Year everyone ... Judy

Oh my! I moved a few months ago and found unfinished project after unfinished project. I have 15 that are neatly zippered up in projects bags not to mention all the others that are just sitting in a pile! Thanks for the invite to join CT!

Joined CT this morning, and now I find a UFO group!!! My type of group. I have been quilting since 1975 so I have a huge list of UFO's. Also WIP's!!! Or maybe I should just list them all together?? Last year I tried to get something done before I started something new, and it worked. Only problem was I was getting my WIP's done and adding to my unfinished/to be quilted pile, which right now is over 10!! I never put the fabrics in my stash, till the quilt is all done,, so I have boxes and bags in my small 10 x 10 sewing room. Which during the holiday becomes my granddaughters bedroom. Well, thats my story, and since I am now working on a applique quilt for my gdd big girls bed, something else will be set aside for later. Lynne in cold Michigan

Just joined this group as I am a classic UFOer - I see something I love & have to make it then something even better comes along so project #1 gets put aside for project #2, etc. I think I am probably up to project #12? in UFO's. It will be great to see some of your finished UFO's & to encourage each other! Janet

So many UFOs, so little time! Hopefully this will help me to get started on some of them soon.

A couple of days ago was just wondering where I could find a quilting group, so I was very excited to receive the email about this group. I purchased several kits last year, because quilting is the one thing I am very passionate about. One wall hanging is cut out, ready to go. Then I found out that my seventh grandchild is on the way, so I've been cutting out a baby quilt over the holidays. This group will give me the motivation to finish what I have, so that I can start more quilting projects.

Oh boy, yes, a group to nudge me to finish these UFO's. I am so bad about seeing something I want to do and everything goes on the back burner. Then I don't finish these things. Absolutely got to do it. I started a Underground Railroad quilt about two years or so ago. Top is finished, backing and batting cut all ready to complete. Now I just have to finish it out. I don't have access to those nice quilting machines and pobably going to have to tie it. I do have a Bernina 830 coming in about three months. Can't wait for that.
