What this group is about

I don’t know about you, but I have too many things started. Join me in my quest to get finish what I’ve started. The deal is, for every 2 projects I finish, I get to reward myself by starting something new. You can make your own rules, or give the group ideas for new rules as we go. I think it’ll be fun to ask this group for advice on what project to wrap up next, show my progress with photo’s, get motivation from each other when I want to break my own agreement (trust me, I am weak willed when it comes to new projects).

1. No purchase necessary
2. Timeframe: this is an ongoing group with no defined end time.
3. If you are not a member of our Quilt with Us Community yet, click the "Signup and Join" box in the upper-right corner. Once you're a member, you will see a green plus sign and a link to "Join Karen's UFO Quilt Along" in the upper-right of the group page. Clicking on the link will allow you to join this Quilt Along.
4. Post questions, project feedback, and pictures of your progress.

TUFO - means Tuesday UFO - those of us interested try to make a small dent in whatever UFO we are working on. Tuesday is simply the day the Connecting Threads gals get together to sew and craft...you can make it any day you like, but we got a kick out of the title. Once in awhile we can't make it on Tuesday so we move it to Wednesday - yup WUFO. Report here what you are planning to work on, then the next day, let us all know how you did. Nothing is required, it's just for fun.

what's your new toy sewfun? what a beautiful cat Julie! And Edith, do you miss Ottawa? meanwhile I'm still 'contemplating' my OFOs for now and planning which one to finish first. Chocolate helps me think! :)

Hmmm...for some reason I was thinking that I only had two quilting related UFOs but now that I've spent some time thinking about it, I think its closer to 9. I'm sure the longer I think about it, the more I'll remember and the number will increase. One of my oldest UFOs is a non-quilt project, a scarf I started knitting for my husband shortly after we married almost 10 years ago. Maybe I'll drag that project out of the closet too while I work on my quilting UFOs.

Oh Sandra, I used to live in Ottawa and those were the exact conditions when I went into labor with my first child, thought I was going to have to arrive at hospital by snowmobile LOL. Chocolate is being consumed as I type.

It is a well know fact in Texas, so all should share the knowledge....Chocolate is medicinal.!

I'm not counting either! But the Chocolate, call me, I'm IN!
Comment by sandra Millar on January 14, 2009 at 5:08pm
yea!! I feel so much better! I really didn't want to count my UFOs either :)
and the chocolate therapy is THE best. Funny you should mention ice and
snow freeze Edith! today here in Ottawa we hit -38celcius and our snowbanks
are so high it's dangerous backing out of the driveway. uh -oh ......
sounds like tackling UFO weather conditions to me. That's it, no more excuses.....unless....a neighbor calls you over for chocolate.....
I'll post my picture when I can figure out how to do it.

Edith - careful what you wish for, the way this winter has been going your doors might get frozen shut! And I definitely agree with the chocolate therapy for any phobia. It gets the endorphines going and we feel better so we must want to do a new project.

I recommend chocolate therapy for us for our UFO-counting phobia. lol Edith, you are like the twin sister that I never had!

One time I tried counting my UFO's - I quit when I reached 30

I'm with you Cornwoman, I would be overwhelmed if I really knew how many UFOs I had. I find it is best to just plug along until I have none left to do. (Mind you that would only happen if I never go to another show or shop) LOL. What are the chances, Hmmmm maybe if Ice and snow freeze my doors shut.
