What this group is about

I don’t know about you, but I have too many things started. Join me in my quest to get finish what I’ve started. The deal is, for every 2 projects I finish, I get to reward myself by starting something new. You can make your own rules, or give the group ideas for new rules as we go. I think it’ll be fun to ask this group for advice on what project to wrap up next, show my progress with photo’s, get motivation from each other when I want to break my own agreement (trust me, I am weak willed when it comes to new projects).

1. No purchase necessary
2. Timeframe: this is an ongoing group with no defined end time.
3. If you are not a member of our Quilt with Us Community yet, click the "Signup and Join" box in the upper-right corner. Once you're a member, you will see a green plus sign and a link to "Join Karen's UFO Quilt Along" in the upper-right of the group page. Clicking on the link will allow you to join this Quilt Along.
4. Post questions, project feedback, and pictures of your progress.

TUFO - means Tuesday UFO - those of us interested try to make a small dent in whatever UFO we are working on. Tuesday is simply the day the Connecting Threads gals get together to sew and craft...you can make it any day you like, but we got a kick out of the title. Once in awhile we can't make it on Tuesday so we move it to Wednesday - yup WUFO. Report here what you are planning to work on, then the next day, let us all know how you did. Nothing is required, it's just for fun.

I made progress on my Libby Lehman project. See my blog for pictures and an update on the class.

I love the new arrangement and can't wait until I can dig into removing the stuff from the closet floor. I'm thinking that I will attack that tomorrow. Today I am rewarding myself for getting the room itself done, and am going to work on making the quilt kit that my DH gave me for Christmas. When the top is together I will practice free-motion with my new frame and work on improving my skills so that when I start that UFO for my folks, it will come out like I am envisioning. Usually I make quilts for others, but this kit is one that I am keeping.

Hi Everyone - this group looks like one that I need so I just joined! I have several projects going at once (just like ever other quilter) and can't seem to stop adding ideas for my "what to start next" list. I recently purchased 2 applique patterns and find myself looking for fabric for these. I'm trying real hard to not go shopping! I know if I do I will just add to my unfinished projects!

My other problem is that I have a hard time keeping quilts for myself. I find that special family members end up getting them (usually my sister and my daughters). I never have regrets because I know they are very much appreciated but I really would like to keep some for myself.

Dear All, I'm not getting anything done. I have no space to work in. My adult son will be moving out soon and then I can have a sewing room. When I saw the pictures of Cornwoman's quilting room, I was so impressed with the size and layout, I turned a little "green". I have only myself to blame, because I have acquired too much fabric, tools and notions for the space I live in. I have a plan in mind and only have to be patient for a few more weeks. My UFO's will still be there for me to attend to in March. WML

Congratulations, Julie, both on the quilt shop visit and the cutting of fabric for one of your UFO's. That's great. I'm dancing the happy dance with you.

Julie - amazing and great work! Are you holding therapy classes for those of us who can't be that strong? If so, sign me up!

Good girl Julie! A quilt store visit without a purchase - hard to imagine.

Awhile ago I told myself that I was not buying any more fabric until I finished at least one UFO. I think I originally promised that I would not buy anything from the quilt store until I finished a UFO, but I just couldn't help myself and bought a few books. Well today I visited the quilt store and did not buy anything! I think that is the first time I've ever done that! I returned home and spent three hours cutting fabric for one of my UFOs and I think I can get it done over the next couple of weekends. Happy, happy, joy, joy!!
