What this group is about

I don’t know about you, but I have too many things started. Join me in my quest to get finish what I’ve started. The deal is, for every 2 projects I finish, I get to reward myself by starting something new. You can make your own rules, or give the group ideas for new rules as we go. I think it’ll be fun to ask this group for advice on what project to wrap up next, show my progress with photo’s, get motivation from each other when I want to break my own agreement (trust me, I am weak willed when it comes to new projects).

1. No purchase necessary
2. Timeframe: this is an ongoing group with no defined end time.
3. If you are not a member of our Quilt with Us Community yet, click the "Signup and Join" box in the upper-right corner. Once you're a member, you will see a green plus sign and a link to "Join Karen's UFO Quilt Along" in the upper-right of the group page. Clicking on the link will allow you to join this Quilt Along.
4. Post questions, project feedback, and pictures of your progress.

TUFO - means Tuesday UFO - those of us interested try to make a small dent in whatever UFO we are working on. Tuesday is simply the day the Connecting Threads gals get together to sew and craft...you can make it any day you like, but we got a kick out of the title. Once in awhile we can't make it on Tuesday so we move it to Wednesday - yup WUFO. Report here what you are planning to work on, then the next day, let us all know how you did. Nothing is required, it's just for fun.

I may have discovered something about my own UFO'S (maybe someone else sees this also). On a number of them, all that's left to be done is binding - or just a label. The boring parts. Do I dislike doing handwork? Does anyonehave a suggestion on how to make handwork seem not so boring to me?

I finished a UFO!!!!!!!!! Actually, I finished it Sunday but just got the photo done to post. This is not a quilt but needed to be finished first. It's a little smocked dress for my granddaughters first birthday coming up in a couple of weeks. I took a smocking class about 6 or 7 years ago and only made one dress then so I had to do some re-learning to do this one. I make piping out of the dress fabric to go around the collor and across the front of the dress. It doesn't show well in the photo.

Karen, boy! are you in the right group! :) I do love that pattern. I think I'm going to have to make more lap quilts so I can get them done (right!) so the pets and DH will have something warm to sleep on/under on the sofa!

Hello everyone! What a super way to start off the New Year! I too have a few 'UFO's in my closet. I have started working on some them this past fall. I had to learn to bind first. A summer trip to TX to visit my quilting buddy REALLY paid off BIG! I'm about to begin piecing the top of my biggest project to date, the Egg Money Quilt. I've started prioritizing my UFO's and will start on the next one soon. I'll start posting pix as soon as I learn how to do that!
Happy sewing! :o)

Karen, that one attracted my attention too! I've got a large print red and white that I think will be beautiful in it! I'm supposed to be starting my homework this morning though! Oh Boy! Since I found this site I have a feeling the word TEMPTATION s going to take on a whole new meaning!

I think I'm out of the loop. What is LQS? Is it online? Karen, you mentioned it in your last comment as did Melinda. A class with Libby Lehman sounds wonderful and well worth the addition of a new UFO!

I know just how you feel, Edith, about being dragged into the 21st century! If I'm gonna finish two of my UFOs I'll have to bite the bullet and hook up my printer.
It started with my husband's phone breaking, so we BOTH needed a new one, even though mine was fine. Then I got a new Bernina ( I know, not exactly a *hardship* ;-D), then my printer died and I had to get a new one of those, and I have a new laptop because my big old Dell dropped dead. It wouldn't be so bad if I could learn how to use one of these things and that would be enough to know how to use all of them! LOL The "before" and "after" photos are a great idea. I'll have to check out your photo album, Cornwoman, to see your definition of "before". Some of my befores are in lots of pieces! : )

Excellant suggestion Karen, I am still a novice at organizing my pics and still have a lot of my finished quilts that are actually photos to scan into my page. but I am learning and am glad to see that I am not the only grannie being dragged into the 21st century by this blog. LOL
