What this group is about

I don’t know about you, but I have too many things started. Join me in my quest to get finish what I’ve started. The deal is, for every 2 projects I finish, I get to reward myself by starting something new. You can make your own rules, or give the group ideas for new rules as we go. I think it’ll be fun to ask this group for advice on what project to wrap up next, show my progress with photo’s, get motivation from each other when I want to break my own agreement (trust me, I am weak willed when it comes to new projects).

1. No purchase necessary
2. Timeframe: this is an ongoing group with no defined end time.
3. If you are not a member of our Quilt with Us Community yet, click the "Signup and Join" box in the upper-right corner. Once you're a member, you will see a green plus sign and a link to "Join Karen's UFO Quilt Along" in the upper-right of the group page. Clicking on the link will allow you to join this Quilt Along.
4. Post questions, project feedback, and pictures of your progress.

TUFO - means Tuesday UFO - those of us interested try to make a small dent in whatever UFO we are working on. Tuesday is simply the day the Connecting Threads gals get together to sew and craft...you can make it any day you like, but we got a kick out of the title. Once in awhile we can't make it on Tuesday so we move it to Wednesday - yup WUFO. Report here what you are planning to work on, then the next day, let us all know how you did. Nothing is required, it's just for fun.

Hi everyone! I just joined a few days ago and went through the closet and pulled out all my UFOs. Not quite as bad as I had expected. I actually sat down yesterday and finished up one of them - a small wallhanging. That leaves me 2 applique projects, 2 tops to quilt, and 5 others in various stages of completion. Really want to get them all completed but there are so many other projects I want to start on :) Well, now off to the sewing room to clean up the mess I made gathering all the UFOs and then which UFO to start on next?

OK - I bit the bullet and went through the stuff on my tall bookcase. Hmmm, not as bad as I thought. Many were bundled projects that I haven't even started yet; just the pattern and appropriate fabric. Don't count as UFOs right? Soooo - officially I have 13 UFOs, and a few of those are very close to being completed (borders, mostly). A few are from classes I've taken (never enuf time in class to complete those projects; so it turns out to be another UFO!). No more new projects! (except, of course, the 3 Christmas quilts I need to make by next Christmas). :) Di in TN

My list consists of what is stored in my memory. The gray matter fades on occasion. What I can remember that I started, where I can remember I put it and what else I may find that had faded from memory along the way. Dear All, please wish me luck!

My LIST consists of whatever my hand lands on first. The one I finished and what I am currently trying to get finished just happened to be on top of the pile LOL

My UFO list is a virtual one so that I don't give up before I start. I figure that if I post a "Before" and "After" picture of them as I go along, I can count how many "Afters" I had later...when I can no longer find any more "Befores". lol Everyone here gets to decide for ourselves what works best for us. We just encourage each other.

Photos...there is a photo section that you can go see the photos that have been uploaded. Also, for the photos in the message...when you go to add the comment look at the line of symbols above the box for typing. There is a little rectangle with green and blue in it and that's where you click to insert a photo in the message.

Last year was year of the baby quilts. This year is year of the ufos. I have vowed to finish one ufo this year. I have about eight, I think. (Last year lots of people I knew were having babies. I'd finish one and find out two more were pregnant. I fininished the last one in October.)

A few of you have mentioned fear of "the list". There are no real rules here - you make your own! Many of us hve discovered making a list has actually helped us realize we aren't as out of control as we thought (or are worse than we thought!). So you don't have to make a list if you don't want to - just pick a project and try to finish it!

Thanks, those were what I have on my walls at the moment and what I am working on. Hunter's Star is the red/white. The poinsettia was from a freezer paper flip and sew pattern from The Design Workshop, it was put out some time ago.
