What this group is about

I don’t know about you, but I have too many things started. Join me in my quest to get finish what I’ve started. The deal is, for every 2 projects I finish, I get to reward myself by starting something new. You can make your own rules, or give the group ideas for new rules as we go. I think it’ll be fun to ask this group for advice on what project to wrap up next, show my progress with photo’s, get motivation from each other when I want to break my own agreement (trust me, I am weak willed when it comes to new projects).

1. No purchase necessary
2. Timeframe: this is an ongoing group with no defined end time.
3. If you are not a member of our Quilt with Us Community yet, click the "Signup and Join" box in the upper-right corner. Once you're a member, you will see a green plus sign and a link to "Join Karen's UFO Quilt Along" in the upper-right of the group page. Clicking on the link will allow you to join this Quilt Along.
4. Post questions, project feedback, and pictures of your progress.

TUFO - means Tuesday UFO - those of us interested try to make a small dent in whatever UFO we are working on. Tuesday is simply the day the Connecting Threads gals get together to sew and craft...you can make it any day you like, but we got a kick out of the title. Once in awhile we can't make it on Tuesday so we move it to Wednesday - yup WUFO. Report here what you are planning to work on, then the next day, let us all know how you did. Nothing is required, it's just for fun.

A few of you have mentioned fear of "the list". There are no real rules here - you make your own! Many of us hve discovered making a list has actually helped us realize we aren't as out of control as we thought (or are worse than we thought!). So you don't have to make a list if you don't want to - just pick a project and try to finish it!

Thanks, those were what I have on my walls at the moment and what I am working on. Hunter's Star is the red/white. The poinsettia was from a freezer paper flip and sew pattern from The Design Workshop, it was put out some time ago.

Hi Edith - really cute pieces! I especially love the red/white (I forget the block pattern name) and the poinsettias. Did you do the poinsettia from a purchased pattern?

Finally got my pictures uploaded, but can't seem to post my finished UFO in this space but it is in with everyone else's, it is the little child's apron and oven mitt set. I was also able to get two parts to my Day in the Country done. I have had October to Feb. done for years. I finished March and April this afternoon. Only four more months to finish.

Is it still a UFO if you don't quilt but inherited the "family" quilt from the 1800s? My daughter-in-law's family came over after the Irish potato famine and settled in a little (now historic) village in southern New Jersey Her family had a quilt that everyone added simple 3" squares to for over a century. (It's like a perpetual UFO!!!)
She now has it and is afraid to do anything to it. We've talked about the possibilities (I wouldn't touch it either!), but she's got two little boys and is too busy running her household for it to be a priority. Thank goodness she's not a quilter: something like that would probably haunt her! :-D

I do not have a list or my rules down on paper either. My list will be long. I love the challenge of piecing tops, but I never seem to get to the quilting part. Maybe I could just focus on my top 10 ufo's then go from there.

Do we need to make a list????? Yikes. Ok, I'll work on it, just as soon as I finish cutting the pieces for my next soon-to-be UFO ;)

I haven't even made my list yet of UFO's! I've had an inner ear problem for several days now and can't get around to checking out my stash. Hopefully soon!
