What this group is about

I don’t know about you, but I have too many things started. Join me in my quest to get finish what I’ve started. The deal is, for every 2 projects I finish, I get to reward myself by starting something new. You can make your own rules, or give the group ideas for new rules as we go. I think it’ll be fun to ask this group for advice on what project to wrap up next, show my progress with photo’s, get motivation from each other when I want to break my own agreement (trust me, I am weak willed when it comes to new projects).

1. No purchase necessary
2. Timeframe: this is an ongoing group with no defined end time.

4. Post questions, project feedback, and pictures of your progress.

TUFO - means Tuesday UFO - those of us interested try to make a small dent in whatever UFO we are working on. Tuesday is simply the day the Connecting Threads gals get together to sew and craft...you can make it any day you like, but we got a kick out of the title. Once in awhile we can't make it on Tuesday so we move it to Wednesday - yup WUFO. Report here what you are planning to work on, then the next day, let us all know how you did. Nothing is required, it's just for fun.

Karen, sign me up for the next QuiltStock.  How do I get to go?  Is this by invitation only to the quilt shop owners?  It looks like so much fun...

How fortunate you were to go to the Moda retreat in Texas, Karen!  It sounds super!  I would like one of those wool pressing mats too.  I've only seen small ones for sale on-line.

Connie, your casserole carrier looks really interesting.  I can't imagine how to make it.

Wow, Karen, what a deal you got on that iron!  I recently purchased one of the wool pressing mats, but haven't even had time to take it out of the pkg.

Connie, I love the casserole carrier.

Hi gang!  It's been awhile since I checked in - here's my excuse:

I was in Texas for 2 weeks, 4 days of visiting with family followed by the two big events.  Really long hours working, but oh so much fun hanging out with quilters!

Looks like you've all been busy, despite record high temps nearly every where in the US.  Connie, finished is finished - give yourself credit!

Sherri, love the baby quilt!

This will be my first full weekend at home in awhile - I plan to use a shovel on my sewing space to try to get it into usable space again.  It's currently piled high with stuff.  I did have the unusual and very very fun experience of getting to shop in the Moda warehouse in Texas....at wholesale prices!!!!....yes, I did spend a bit.  Now I have to organize it.  In addition to some good basics like replacement rotary blades and Primitive Gatherings triangle paper, I scored a really good deal on a super iron. Yes, SUPER iron.  I've used these before and loved them but they were too expensive - over $500. It's called a Steam Station and has a big reservoir and gives major continous steam! I got one of the retreat used ones - it had only been used for 10 days, brand new out of the box before that - for $100!  That, plus a roll of that nifty wool iron mat stuff that everyone raves about - big enough to cover my Big Board.  I'm a happy camper!  Just need to find space for it all.

This isn't a UFO, but at least it's a finished project. It's "Pass the Hot Dish" casserole carrier. It folds flat for storage, then pops up to put your dish in. Has handles on the ends to carry it with. Pictures aren't great, but maybe you can see how it is.

Very nice Sherri.  Every little step puts us closer to the end!
