What this group is about

I don’t know about you, but I have too many things started. Join me in my quest to get finish what I’ve started. The deal is, for every 2 projects I finish, I get to reward myself by starting something new. You can make your own rules, or give the group ideas for new rules as we go. I think it’ll be fun to ask this group for advice on what project to wrap up next, show my progress with photo’s, get motivation from each other when I want to break my own agreement (trust me, I am weak willed when it comes to new projects).

1. No purchase necessary
2. Timeframe: this is an ongoing group with no defined end time.

TUFO - means Tuesday UFO - those of us interested try to make a small dent in whatever UFO we are working on. Tuesday is simply the day the Connecting Threads gals get together to sew and craft...you can make it any day you like, but we got a kick out of the title. Once in awhile we can't make it on Tuesday so we move it to Wednesday - yup WUFO. Report here what you are planning to work on, then the next day, let us all know how you did. Nothing is required, it's just for fun.

Oh cool....love the new boot. I definitely need it to make me do bindings. I have 7 quilts that only need bound and I could mark them off my UFO list,

Wow, I hadn't realized how quiet we've been!  Connie, thanks for waking us up!  Does everyone need the boot?  I know I do!  In fact, I think I'll update the boot!

My latest finish....a 2017 UFO....It's Electric wall hanging. Has a mistake, but guess it will stay that way...it's finished! I was watching tv last night, looked up and it popped right out at me....oh well...I'm not perfect!

Connie, beautiful!

I finally sewed a bit this weekend.  First time since Dec!  A friend wanted to make a tea cozy - she's Irish and makes tea in a teapot every day.  She brought her old one over so we could make a new pattern from it.  She picked fabric from my stash - nice to see it going to a good home.  We ended up making it reversible.  When she left, she just had a bit of binding hand stitching to finish.  So while my machine was out, I pieced together the top of a little pincushion I had cut out in Dec.  Doesn't sound like much, but if those half square triangles were full size, I would have pieced a lap quilt in the same amount of time!  25 HST's that finished at 3/4".  This week, maybe I'll quilt and stuff it?!  Also got a baby quilt roughly designed.  I'm not fond of the fabrics the mom to be chose, so I'm having to pretend I like it and get creative.

Ohh Connie I love the colors in your quilt and with the dark background it is stunning. Congratulations on finishing it!

Very lovely, Connie.  Colours are beautiful.  Is it a gift?

I was at a quilt show and sale at a nearby Church.  I helped set-up yesterday and stayed all day today.  I took 8 very small wall hangings and was given a little table.  I sold 2 of them and had a nice time talking to all the other quilters and all the people who attended and looked at my wares.  The gardeners looked after the Bistro and there were fresh sandwiches, coffee and tea and lots of donated desserts.  I was tired out when I arrived home.

Vilma, how nice that you bought some kits.  I bought 15 blocks that are part of a Joanne BOM with both pieced and applique blocks.  The quilt is called Tulip Twist and the colours are really nice - pinks, greens and browns.  I bought it for a good price at a sale at QOV and I look forward to working on it.  I don't have the finishing kit but I have enough to make a nice coordinated quilt.

I went to Branson, Missouri and went to a couple quilt shops, The Quilted Cow and Quilts and Quilts and i got some applique kits.  Can't wait to work on them.

Happy Easter!  I hope everyone has a lovely week-end.  Hubby and I are getting together with my son and his family on Monday.
