I don’t know about you, but I have too many things started. Join me in my quest to get finish what I’ve started. The deal is, for every 2 projects I finish, I get to reward myself by starting something new. You can make your own rules, or give the group ideas for new rules as we go. I think it’ll be fun to ask this group for advice on what project to wrap up next, show my progress with photo’s, get motivation from each other when I want to break my own agreement (trust me, I am weak willed when it comes to new projects).
1. No purchase necessary
2. Timeframe: this is an ongoing group with no defined end time.
3. If you are not a member of our Quilt with Us Community yet, click the "Signup and Join" box in the upper-right corner. Once you're a member, you will see a green plus sign and a link to "Join Karen's UFO Quilt Along" in the upper-right of the group page. Clicking on the link will allow you to join this Quilt Along.
4. Post questions, project feedback, and pictures of your progress.
TUFO - means Tuesday UFO - those of us interested try to make a small dent in whatever UFO we are working on. Tuesday is simply the day the Connecting Threads gals get together to sew and craft...you can make it any day you like, but we got a kick out of the title. Once in awhile we can't make it on Tuesday so we move it to Wednesday - yup WUFO. Report here what you are planning to work on, then the next day, let us all know how you did. Nothing is required, it's just for fun.

Good to year from you. Karen. Thanks for the good news that this place is not going anywhere. We go way back here. Sorry to hear about your dad. Ang glad that you and your mom are doing well.
Karen, thanks for letting us know that QWU is still going to be available. I was not looking forward to setting up my groups on another site.
I'm sorry about your dad passing away. It is good that you were able to move in with your mom, but I am surprised to hear you no longer work at Martingale Publishing. Just the other day I finally received a book club notice from them after not having had one for a few months. I need more books like I need another hole in my head so I declined it.
Next up, a bit about me. I'm finally back to a little bit of stitching after a long hiatus due to covid, family and moving. Back in June I posted that I was visiting my parents in Oregon (5 hr drive from my place in Seattle). Unfortunately my dad passed away (peacefully, in his sleep, in his bed) while I was there and long story short, I've moved in with my mom. She lost his income and I am still unemployed, so it was a beneficial move for both of us. Not fun during a pandemic. The good news is, it's now been 2 months since I've moved in and we're getting along nicely. She's a quilting and sewer and we're now sharing her very large sewing room. She hasn't sewn much for several years now, but she's hoping I'll motivate her....haha! If I finish anything, I'll post here, but mostly I've been chipping away at UFO's.
Happy Fall!
Hi gang! Sorry I've been awol for awhile - but a quick note about QuiltWithUs. You may have seen a message from the site about it closing due to non payment. This was a simple clerical error and has been corrected. I spoke with friends at Connecting Threads and they assured me there are no plans to close our beloved site down.
I am a long time member of "Quilting With Us" (QWU). I used to give virtual workshops here. Like many others, I have ventured out as QWU became more quiet.
We are getting the warning that QWU is at risk of being disabled. I fear this is a sign that QWU will one day be no more.
It has become like family here and the thought of losing the friendships we have developed has giving me a sad heart. Like many dark clouds, there is a silver lining. When I ventured out, I created a quilters social network, much like QWU. I never mentioned it, for it was a conflict of interest. However, in this dark hour, it is time to let others know there is an alternative. It does not have to end here.
I would be honored for QWU members to join "Pattern Pastiche". If needed, we are more than happy to create a group for your new home.

That is very pretty Sherri.
Karen, has Martingale publishing closed? I haven't received an e-mail from them in several months. I hope something comes along for you soon. This is certainly not a good time to be looking for work!
Loving your quilts Sherri....so pretty.
Karen....sorry to hear you're unemployed. This Covid has been so rough on people. Hope you find something soon! Best of luck with your move. I'm sure your mom loves having you there with her.
Here is another UFO finished.....still have a long ways to go in maybe getting some UFO's finished....I'll never get them all done, but at least I've made my stack of finished things a little taller.
This is the 2019 Buck a Block I did with the quilt shop I frequent.
