What this group is about

I don’t know about you, but I have too many things started. Join me in my quest to get finish what I’ve started. The deal is, for every 2 projects I finish, I get to reward myself by starting something new. You can make your own rules, or give the group ideas for new rules as we go. I think it’ll be fun to ask this group for advice on what project to wrap up next, show my progress with photo’s, get motivation from each other when I want to break my own agreement (trust me, I am weak willed when it comes to new projects).

1. No purchase necessary
2. Timeframe: this is an ongoing group with no defined end time.
3. If you are not a member of our Quilt with Us Community yet, click the "Signup and Join" box in the upper-right corner. Once you're a member, you will see a green plus sign and a link to "Join Karen's UFO Quilt Along" in the upper-right of the group page. Clicking on the link will allow you to join this Quilt Along.
4. Post questions, project feedback, and pictures of your progress.

TUFO - means Tuesday UFO - those of us interested try to make a small dent in whatever UFO we are working on. Tuesday is simply the day the Connecting Threads gals get together to sew and craft...you can make it any day you like, but we got a kick out of the title. Once in awhile we can't make it on Tuesday so we move it to Wednesday - yup WUFO. Report here what you are planning to work on, then the next day, let us all know how you did. Nothing is required, it's just for fun.

Thanks, Janet, Connie & Judy!!!   Judy, my first love is probably applique.  I've made 2 quilts very similar to Baltimore Albums, and doing one finishing up one now.  It was an online class with Jeana Kimball, doing all the blocks with applique or hand piecing.  I am  not happy with my hand piecing, so I chose to do 2 on my machine.

Lynne, that is beautiful and a lot of hand applique!

Lynne, your orange peel quilt top is gorgeous!  Great example of how so many different colors can work great together.

I just added another UFO to the pile.  Instead of dwindling, it grows!!!  Oh well, at least I'm enjoying it.  This quilt top was made with 5 inch charm squares.  The orange peel shape was cut with my AccuQuilt cutter.  Peels with appliqued down by hand.  Had to trim the charms to 4 1/2 inches, to make sure they were all the same size.   Then I used more charms to make the square in the square border.  Size is about 60 1/2 x 85 1/2.  this will be taken to a long armer, at some point.

Thanks, Connie!!!  I also have issues with my hands.  Thank goodness, applique doesn't bother them.

Thanks Connie.  Judy Martin's quilts are actually fairly easy to construct as I believe all of them just have straight seams so I know you could make one.  One definitely needs to be organized though!

I hope you are able to the next retreat.

That is beautiful Lynne.......lots of work in all that applique.

Janet......fantastic quilt......I looked at that pattern. Don't know if I want to tackle it or not lol

I have two quilts at the quilter and finished setting together another this week so I'll take it when I pick the others up. Had an appt. with my doctor yesterday and she's going to refer me to a surgeon about my hand. My pile of quilts needing binding is growing.

I missed the retreat this past weekend as I caught what I thought was a bad cold, but it only lasted a couple of days. My blood work yesterday showed an allergy, so maybe that's what it was even though I've never had a problem with that. Scheduled to go to another one next weekend. Hoping I can make that one.
