What this group is about

I don’t know about you, but I have too many things started. Join me in my quest to get finish what I’ve started. The deal is, for every 2 projects I finish, I get to reward myself by starting something new. You can make your own rules, or give the group ideas for new rules as we go. I think it’ll be fun to ask this group for advice on what project to wrap up next, show my progress with photo’s, get motivation from each other when I want to break my own agreement (trust me, I am weak willed when it comes to new projects).

1. No purchase necessary
2. Timeframe: this is an ongoing group with no defined end time.
3. If you are not a member of our Quilt with Us Community yet, click the "Signup and Join" box in the upper-right corner. 4. Post questions, project feedback, and pictures of your progress.

TUFO - means Tuesday UFO - those of us interested try to make a small dent in whatever UFO we are working on. Tuesday is simply the day the Connecting Threads gals get together to sew and craft...you can make it any day you like, but we got a kick out of the title. Once in awhile we can't make it on Tuesday so we move it to Wednesday - yup WUFO. Report here what you are planning to work on, then the next day, let us all know how you did. Nothing is required, it's just for fun.

Way to go, Donna!  Doesn't it feel good?  I've done it at least 3 times over the past several years, but it's not enough.  I need to get rid of more.

Good Morning Janet!

I'm still here, but have been concentrating on downsizing.  In fact, I gave away 1 large box of misc to SA yesterday, and another couple of boxes will be going to the guild in a couple of weeks.  That includes patterns that I no longer love, gadgets, and large pieces of fleece for backing.  Not going to use, not going to keep it.  Feels good to purge!

Next on the list is going through my mountains of scraps of various sizes.  I seriously do not think I will live long enough to use all of them in my lifetime.  There may even be some yardage going too.

I cleared out my drawers, got rid of 2 plastic bins and replaced them with matching bookcases that store everything nicely, and they also go nicely with the other bookcase that holds my bins.

This afternoon, once I get back from running errands, I will be working on the MIni Block Club that I hostess on FB and plan to get those finished.  Monday, I have a UFO class and I will be working on Beads from Jordan Fabrics, a fun project.  Then Thursday through Friday, I will be at a 3-day retreat here in town with 40 other quilters, sewing up a storm.  I'm also in the process of deciding what I want to take and getting all my stuff together.  Gonna be a busy week.

Well, need to get ready to go.  Chat more later!

I will be posting a pic of a finished UFO soon.  Just need to finish hand stitching down the binding which I hope to have done by tomorrow.

Wow, it is amazing how that landlord can just sell your apartment right off from under you.  What a pain in the hiney to deal with!

Helllooooo out there!!!  Is anyone awake?  Look at this - we haven't posted since June!!!  Shame on us!

I'll start.  I can't say I've finished anything because I haven't sewn a stitch in months.  I was in Dallas, TX in August for Quiltstock (I was working), then came back to the news that I had to move - my apartment had been sold as a condo!  So I spent the next month packing and moving.  My sewing machine is still safely stored at work until I unpack my sewing space in the new tiny apartment.  Boy, do I have too much stuff!

I want to sew, really I do!  But then I was at Quilt Market - now I'm too pooped to do anything.  So now I think I need the BOOT!

Elizabeth, I have a few quilts that are Joann BOM.  Never paid full price, I wait until the year is over and buy them at clearance price.  I just got 12 blocks kit for $1/each at a resale store.  Will be working on that soon.

What a wonderful quilt!  Connie, you are fortunate to be able to find blocks priced so reasonably.  I bought 15 Joanne BOM blocks for $20.00 Canadian at last year's garage sale.  I thought that was a good buy.

Here is a picture of a finished 2018 UFO. It is a Buck a Block quilt.

Yes, Connie, I sew the scraps as I accumulate them and then I cut the 12 1/2" blocks and sew them together when I have a top done.

You do a good job of using your scraps....do you make blocks with them then sew the blocks together?

Connie, your Electric Wall Hanging is very nice.  I got tired of looking for the mistake - so I wouldn't worry about it.  Never did see it. Haha!
