What this group is about

I don’t know about you, but I have too many things started. Join me in my quest to get finish what I’ve started. The deal is, for every 2 projects I finish, I get to reward myself by starting something new. You can make your own rules, or give the group ideas for new rules as we go. I think it’ll be fun to ask this group for advice on what project to wrap up next, show my progress with photo’s, get motivation from each other when I want to break my own agreement (trust me, I am weak willed when it comes to new projects).

1. No purchase necessary
2. Timeframe: this is an ongoing group with no defined end time.
3. If you are not a member of our Quilt with Us Community yet, click the "Signup and Join" box in the upper-right corner. Once you're a member, you will see a green plus sign and a link to "Join Karen’s UFO Quilt Along" in the upper-right of the group page. Clicking on the link will allow you to join this Quilt Along.
4. Post questions, project feedback, and pictures of your progress. NEW To show your finished UFO in this slideshow, If you have finished a UFO, post a picture to your own photos, add a "tag" in all lower case. The tag should be " ufo" (don't type the quotation marks). I'll troll regularly and add them as I see them! Note, the slideshow only holds 100 photos and our industrious group has passed that number! As I add new projects, I am deleting the oldest. Now we can all applaud our progress more easily.
5. Cheer on your fellow quilters as you go!
6. TUFO - means Tuesday UFO - those of us interested try to make a small dent in whatever UFO we are working on. Tuesday is simply the day the Connecting Threads gals get together to sew and craft...you can make it any day you like, but we got a kick out of the title. Once in awhile we can't make it on Tuesday so we move it to Wednesday - yup WUFO. Report here what you are planning to work on, then the next day, let us all know how you did. Nothing is required, it's just for fun.

I hope to finish a few projects this spring and am looking forward to trying out some which I have had in my closet for a few years. I am in the midst of cleaning out my quilting cabinets to make room for new projects. I always need to fuss around before I can sit down and quilt. I am looking forward to being a part of this group.

I just finished a very old UFO!!! See my blog post for the complete story, but here's a quick pic:

Which means I get to start something new (I finished a wall hanging early this week)

We finally put away the Christmas decorations and have cleared my studio of the Christmas gift wrappings. My cutting table turns into Christmas gift wrapping station during Christmas time. So I need to do inventory of what I have. I am scared to find out. I will be bring to my small group my bag of scraps that I have been holding on for my umpteenth string quilt. I will let you know what I find in my studio.

the sewing room is shaping up ,, I agree it's amazing how much clutter that just doesn't belong in the room somehow ends up in here... Will laundry my tops today and continue on with the progress. Work on getting a log cabin block done today during my breaks from cleaning and organizing...

I have been given another shove to complete UFOs, with a new baby on the horizon and a wedding in late fall (so far this year) lots of reasons to start new ones. but as I have a Country Bride top languishing in my UFO pile I think that takes care of one occaision. I am going to try to limit my blogging to early morning (with coffee) and just before bed. LOL

I've been looking for a group to join and this one is perfect! I have lots of UFO's and I'm ashamed to tell you that a few of them have been sitting for months and all they need is a label! How can a label trip me up like that? So the deal is 2 complete and I get to start something new? That's GREAT! I can DO this!

Well ladies,

After reading all your messages, they inspired me to reorganize my quilting room and find out how many UFO's (8) and USO's (14). All that is left to organize is my embellishments, then my attention will be given to quilting a Disappearing Nine Patch lap quilt. My goal is to have this lap quilt completely finished by Jan. 31st.

I too, like the idea of finishing two UFO's before starting a new project. Will attempt this. Wish me luck!

Love reading everyone's messages. Great site. Thanks!

I need to work down the UFO pile. One of them is going to the longarm quilter this month! It's a Carpenter's Wheel that's been ready to quilt since 2000! It has finally found a home as soon as it's done.
I have a long list of other stuff that needs finished up and sent to its new owners. I'm doing a Monster block wall hanging for each of my grandkids plus one cousin. The monsters are from a block of the month about 3 years ago.

Thanks for all the nice comments on my quilts! I'm loving this sight! My Husband just asked me what I was doing and when I told him I was blogging with other quilter's he just chuckled! Some one else said earlier that they are having a hard time deciding wether to quilt or to blog - I'm in the same boat!

I'm excited to join this group. UFO's are a quilter's nemisis, but we love it! I went to a local "Stash Pot Pie" to start using some of my "Stash" and low and behold, I now have more UFO's. I'll post one of them soon, because it is almost finished and I would love to share it. Next time I write, I hope to have a count of my UFO's so that I know where I'm starting from and where I might end.
