What this group is about

I don’t know about you, but I have too many things started. Join me in my quest to get finish what I’ve started. The deal is, for every 2 projects I finish, I get to reward myself by starting something new. You can make your own rules, or give the group ideas for new rules as we go. I think it’ll be fun to ask this group for advice on what project to wrap up next, show my progress with photo’s, get motivation from each other when I want to break my own agreement (trust me, I am weak willed when it comes to new projects).

1. No purchase necessary
2. Timeframe: this is an ongoing group with no defined end time.
3. If you are not a member of our Quilt with Us Community yet, click the "Signup and Join" box in the upper-right corner. Once you're a member, you will see a green plus sign and a link to "Join Karen’s UFO Quilt Along" in the upper-right of the group page. Clicking on the link will allow you to join this Quilt Along.
4. Post questions, project feedback, and pictures of your progress. NEW To show your finished UFO in this slideshow, If you have finished a UFO, post a picture to your own photos, add a "tag" in all lower case. The tag should be " ufo" (don't type the quotation marks). I'll troll regularly and add them as I see them! Note, the slideshow only holds 100 photos and our industrious group has passed that number! As I add new projects, I am deleting the oldest. Now we can all applaud our progress more easily.
5. Cheer on your fellow quilters as you go!
6. TUFO - means Tuesday UFO - those of us interested try to make a small dent in whatever UFO we are working on. Tuesday is simply the day the Connecting Threads gals get together to sew and craft...you can make it any day you like, but we got a kick out of the title. Once in awhile we can't make it on Tuesday so we move it to Wednesday - yup WUFO. Report here what you are planning to work on, then the next day, let us all know how you did. Nothing is required, it's just for fun.

What I did was make a list of 5 UFO's I want to finish the most. I write out to the side what I need to finish it, if anything..(batting, backing, ect.). When I finish those I'll make a list of the next 5. That way I feel like I've accomplished something...I get to the end of a list...even tho it's a long way from getting all my UFO's finished.

God job Sunshine!
I tried "the list" once - I quit when I got to 30 items - it was just too depressing.

I agree with you Cornwoman! When your list become too long, and even though you cross things off, you also have to add things on...well, that's a bit much! I had approx. 35 ufo's...this past year, I finished 23...and added more than a dozen new ones, so although I'm a bit better, no enough to keep the list anymore! You could call me a "Topaholic" I guess!

Congrats on the gift card! I love making lists too, and attempted to make one with my UFO's a couple of times. I had two problems with the lists...first, it was depressing to see how many UFO's I have...and second, I kept running across more to add to the list. So even though I get a ton of satisfaction checking UFO's off as (if) I finish them, the depression and guilt are too much for me. I disposed of my lists. My grandma always used to say "Ignorance is bliss", and I think in this particular case, she was right! lol

QuiltDragon... sometimes I like lists. I get a real sense of accomplishment when I look at the list and see all that's been crossed (or checked) off and, in this case, I'm able to keep track of what's done and what's left to be done - otherwise, it would be 'out of sight, out of mind' and I'd forget what I have.

Wow, Sunshine, only 6 UFO's. That's great. I have that many on the truck with me. LOL At least I'm not looking at the many UFO's still at home! Congrat's on the gift card.

Congratulations Sunshine! You really have finished a lot of UFOs this year.

I am off to a 3 day retreat with Karen to hopefully make some progress on my UFOs.

Sunshine - lists of UFOs are scary things - I tried that once and got too depressed about never getting them done, so I tore up the list. Didn't finish any UFO's that month, but at least I didn't have the list staring ar me! LOL

LOL Sognstitcher... I have a list hanging in my sewing room - otherwise I wouldn't know just how many are left because they are here and there and somewhere in the room.

Whoa, Sunshine. Only 6 UFO's ? I have that many on the sewing table. The rest are hidden in other places where I don't see them. I wouldn't know how to act if I got the number into the single digits. LOL
