Betty, What a great idea. Wish that I had been a quilter when my children were young. With 3 babies in 4 yrs., there just wasn't time. I finished assembling a sampler from the BD block exchange and love the look. Now I have to mark, layer, and do the fun stuff(quilting). Have finished several other projects over the months. Always something to make.

I haven't been checking out this site recently since the IN Heartland group got started. I have been adding photos to my page as I continue to start new projects and finish some of

them. I am working on a giraffe wall hanging based on a drawing by my daughter as a present for her. Betty

So it's been a month since anyone checked in, but hopefully some of you will check this out soon. Check out info on the new machine quilting show - Milwaukee Machine Quilting Show - to be held in August. Awesome classes/teachers, great vendors. Designed for machine quilters, close by for many of us, and reasonably priced.

I have been busy with quilting. Making quilts, getting my Longarm business off the ground and just having a grand time in my sewing room. Today was a beautiful day outside but I have quilting projects that I want to get done. As much as I love spring it's a constant tug between the outdoors and my sewing room. LOL!

Now that Spring is in full bloom ~ I'm certain that many are "out & about". This past weekend, I completed the binding on my Blended Trip! Have been sorting thru my stack of UFO's - OMG there are 36 tops to be quilted. Some I could manage myself & others will need to go to the long-armer.

I have some Stack-n-Whacks that I will quilt myself. My long-armer just doesn't understand my instructions & NOT I do NOT want them meandered! LOL

Within the span of ONE day - I managed to turn another year older! My BF's nephew LOVES to cook, so he made me a special dinner!! I will be on permanent clean-up duties if he wants to continue to do ALL the cooking!! It was a wonderful surprise!

Where is everybody? Everyone is sooooo quiet. Spring is finally here and time to get those greens planted. Wish I could motivate my husband to plow up a part of the garden so I can enjoy spinach soon. I have quilted the winter away, several baby quilts and got that one done using the jelly roll bundle. I'm working on another baby qult which is very bright and colorful. Hope it doesn't keep the little dear awake.

it's above freezing here too and so grey. Even so was glad it was Friday so I could spend the weekend quilting. Finishing off the binding on Penny Candy quilt from connecting threads, it's for my friend Cathy's birthday, last March, LOL!!

Sorry to hear that you haven't been feeling well Sandra. I don't mind the snow...it just gives me more excuses to be in my sewing room. I should finish quilting my current project tomorrow, then need to put on the binding. It's turning out pretty good. I will post pictures soon. I am naming it "Memories of Mama" it is dedicated to a good friend of mine who passed away in Nov, she was 93. Happy Quilting, Julia

I like to keep it simple for charity quilts, not that I don't put a lot of work into them. I have ordered a pack of jelly rolls and a pattern and can't wait to get them.
I'm sorry to sound so glum. It's finally above freezing but it's so gloomy and gray. Also, I haven't felt good since before Christmas. I caught a bug and then got a secondary infection. Life goes on!

Ah, I am sorry for you Sandra. For a change, here in Manitoba, the weather is wonderful. Sunny, way above normal temperatures for this time of year and light breezes. Snow melting a bit in places. But, that does not keep me away from quilting. It just gives my eyes a delightful resting place when looking out the window in front of my sewing machine. I am working on a lap quilt for a charity in a pattern that I will never do again. I love my color and fabric choices but don't know what possessed me to try this pattern. Too many little pieces when working for a charity quilt.
