I am a long time member of "Quilting With Us" (QWU). I used to give virtual workshops here. Like many others, I have ventured out as QWU became more quiet.

We are getting the warning that QWU is at risk of being disabled. I fear this is a sign that QWU will one day be no more.

It has become like family here and the thought of losing the friendships we have developed has giving me a sad heart. Like many dark clouds, there is a silver lining. When I ventured out, I created a quilters social network, much like QWU. I never mentioned it, for it was a conflict of interest. However, in this dark hour, it is time to let others know there is an alternative. It does not have to end here.

I would be honored for QWU members to join "Pattern Pastiche". If needed, we are more than happy to create a group for your new home.

Thanks for the birthday wishes everyone! It was a great day! I work in a busy dialysis unit a frequently get called into the Nephrology Clinic too. So my quilting time lets me decompress. Now my sewing machine is on the fritz (again). I just had it tuned up in Mar. Now it is back in the shop where it will live for at least two more weeks (waiting on parts). Going stir crazy here....had to resort to cross stitch:)

Good job, Elana!!!

I gave notice at my job today...Kind of! Will keep doing the home care visit that I do every-other-Friday. But won't be working with the baby anymore after these next 2 weeks (Sundays-Wednesdays). The baby is GREAT - his dad.... a total jerk who makes the RN's day/job miserable. I'm sick of having to sit in the living room w/him 32 hours/week.

I have an interview at an assisted living place on Monday. I worked there as a CNA prior to getting my RN, so I am hopeful...

Congrats Judy on the position....only forward progress from this point forwart for you as well as I....Have two stay positive....OB instructor was such on a power trip, her speciality...Finally realized what the sole issue is, is her expectations are sew high, expecting us to attain where she is, seems like nothin pleased her two much, but purserveering just the same. Final countdown to finals 12 days.....Just had head to toe practicum, passed.....Yawhooooo!!!!!!

Oh BTW start next week as a part time NP at a clinic, perfect so I can keep my full time job with good benefits and wait for a full time nurse practitioner position to open. And Beth, no speciality yet, I have been an ICU nurse for 10+ years, but did Hospice for 10 years too, love them both. I will wait and see where I land before deciding. Got an offer to be an Acute Care NP but poor benefits so no go.
