Doesn't look like it, does it, meegan?  If you're looking for a chatty group you could join us at Gifty Galore.  Not a day goes by there aren't at least a couple of pages of comments.  I have to warn you though.  I'm the only New Yorker and sometimes they don't quite get me

I hope everyone is well. The storm was awful but we will re-build. God bless us all.

Hi all, I may be back and forth to the city these days, but my heart is always in New York. Now I have two kids and 4 grandkids in the city, one in the lower eastside and the other in the upper. I grew up in Brooklyn, but have been out of the city, in Maryland and Florida for years. The only reason I'd buy a lottery ticket is if I'd win enough to buy a great apt in Manhattan. It'll never happen. BTW, also lived in Highland Park NJ for several years, but that was before my kids.

How is everyone doing?  This is such a quiet group I hope that means we are getting some sewing done. Take care in the heat.

That's wonderful about the sewing table. And the new sewing space sounds great. I am so happy for you. Enjoy it!

What a find!  On my way home yesterday, I found an old singer Featherweight sewing table!  It was just standing near the crub! I couldn't believe my luck!  I am so happy! The metal supports that hold the machine up are gone but maybe I can find something at Home Depot that will be good. The sewing machine opening fits my Pfaff. For my weekend project I'm going to clean out a small area in my bedroom and clear off my writing table (I have a big clunky computer monitor on my writing table) and make a littile studio for myself. I purchased a laptop a month ago that I can just transfer my files. I wish I could take classes at City quilter this summer but funds are low. But what I deceied to do is sign up for one of Charles Johns sewing project hours. I can work on stuff and get help from my fellow quilters. I feel much better. I want to thank all my quilting friends for helping through a tough time. I'm OK now. When I have my small space set up, I will post pictures.  Bless you all.

So glad you are feeling better Yarnbasket. Sewing always helps, as does walking . Happy too, that you found that fabric store. Thinking of you, Maryann

Hi Ladies:

Just wanted you to know I feel better. i went for a long walk in the rain and it cleared my mind. I went home and started some EPP. Just some quiet sewing helped.

I went through my stash and found out that I had alot more than i thought. My sister lend me her Olf Lite and I could look at the colors better. I also went to the public library and got some books and DVD's. I'm so gretful for the public library system. It has been a great resource to me whenever I need a pick me up. That's why every Christmas I make a small donation to them. If you have a library near you try it. If it doesn't have the books you want go to the NYPL site and reseve books. You can have it sent to your NYPL branch,

This book is very nice. . It has some wonderful simple quilts you can do. While I was out walking a found a small fabric store that had very nice muslin. It was very inexspensive and I thought of make one of the quilts in this book. Sometimes when you ask God to help you find a way through things, He gives answers. (That's just my opinion. I'm not trying to force religion on anyone) I'm going to take some scarps and see what I can make. Thank you everyone for your kind words and encourgement. I will post more photos later. have a good week.
