I already have a question, putting you to work right away. When paper piecing you are supposed to perforate all of your sewing lines first on your sewing machine with an unthreaded needle right? My Janome will not sew with an unthreaded needle. It immediately stops and tells you to rethread the machine. It is so annoying!!!! I don't want to drag out my old machine every time so now I just use a dressmakers tracing wheel but the perforations aren't as deep or as close as with the machine. I wondered if anyone else has this problem and if so, did you figure out how to get around it????

Hi everyone. I love paper piecing!!!! I have made several quilts with this method and some of my patterns are paper pieced. I love the results. Blocks always turn out perfect with this method and you can usually find a way to paper piece any block. Looking forward to chatting and learning more about this technique!!!!

Hope the paper works "easier" for you, Trevi! Good luck!

I have only recently tried paper piecing. I fell in love with the technique seeing Carol Doak's demo on The Quilt Show website. Now I have 3 of her books & a CD with instructions. Today I bought another pack of the paper with her logo on it. The 1st attempt I made was with regular copy paper and while it worked OK, this paper is supposed to make it easier. Wish me luck!

I have a UFO quilt that I started for my son that is paper pieced, I need to finish, he decided he wanted Oregon ducks for his bedroom instead and I put the quilt away and never finished it. This new group gives me a reason to finish the quilt.

I am a paper piecing fanatic! I have done several large projects including Karen Stone and Judy Niemeyer designs. I haven't done much lately as I have been too busy machine quilting.

I've done a few paper pieced projects, most recently a wall hanging Petit Jardin (there's a picture on my page). I've not done anything as intricate as some of you ladies but I love the process and want to do more!

I haven't made a paper pieced anything, yet; but, am hoping to in the near future. People have been so helpful with books to look into and information ... I can't wait to finish my "UFO's", so I can start a paper pieced top!
